Dr. László Boros holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Albert Szent-Györgyi School of Medicine, Szeged, Hungary. Dr. Boros is currently a Professor of Pediatrics, Endocrinology and Metabolism at the UCLA School of Medicine, an investigator at the UCLA Clinical & Translational Science (CTSI) and the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institutes, and he is also the Chief Scientific Advisor of SiDMAP, LLC. Dr. Boros is the co-inventor of the stable isotope-based dynamic metabolic profiling (SIDMAP) technology. This functional biochemistry tool is used for drug testing that involves library screening, lead optimization and in vitro and in vivo phenotype profiling. The core technology involves studying natural and disease/drug-induced variations in stable non-radiating harmless isotope variations and crosstalk among metabolites in living systems with 13C-glucose. Dr. Boros is the co-inventor of the targeted 13C tracer fate association study (TTFAS) platform to study the oncoisotope role of deuterium and its depletion by mitochondrial matrix water exchanges to prevent oncoisotopic cell transformation by deuterium.

Dr. Boros trained as a house staff in his medical school in gastroenterology after receiving a research training fellowship from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Boros was a Visiting Scholar at the Essen School of Medicine in Germany and also worked as a Research Scientist at the Ohio State University, Department of Surgery. Dr. Boros is the recipient of the C. Williams Hall Outstanding Publication Award from the Academy of Surgical Research of the United States (1997), the Richard E. Weitzman Memorial Research Award from the University of California (2001), the Excellence in Clinical Research Award from the General Clinical Research Center at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (2004) and Public Health Impact Investigator Award of the United States Food and Drug Administration (2011). Dr. Boros serves as an associate editor for the journals Medicine, Pancreas and Metabolomics.

Dr. Que Collins is a leading scientist when it comes to developing and applying nutrition and metabolic therapies to treat cancer in people and pets.

Dr. Collins is Co-Founder and Principal Investigator of Cignature Health Metabolic Clinic, the first clinic in the world to use deuterium and tracer technologies to describe and follow the health status of patients with metabolic disorders such as cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders.

Dr. Collins is also the Principal Investigator of the Epigenix Foundation, a not-for-profit organization created by the founders of Question Nutrition to promote research to prevent and ameliorate disease, maximize the quality of life, and/or improve personal performance.

Today we're talking about an element that you probably didn't learn about in school, deuterium, and how it is likely contributing to the slow but steady degeneration of the human population. Our guests are Dr. Que Collins and Dr. Laszlo Boros, who are leading experts working to educate people on deuterium through the Center for Deuterium Depletion so that we can heal our bodies and improve the health of future generations.

So what exactly is deuterium?

It is a rare isotope of hydrogen (only 0.000155% of hydrogen atoms) that contains a proton and a neutron in its nucleus, and the extra neutron doubles the mass of this type of hydrogen atom.

And when two deuteriums combine with oxygen, the resulting substance is referred to as “heavy” water, 2H2O, because of the additional mass. Although heavy water tastes and looks the same as ordinary water, it doesn't behave the same: it has a higher boiling point, a lower freezing point, and ice cubes made with heavy water will sink in ordinary water.

These differences demonstrate that the presence of Deuterium can change chemical behavior.

So why does that matter?

Well, hydrogen is in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink, and as we take hydrogen into our body, it becomes part of our blood, organs, DNA, and everything else that makes us who we are.

So when deuterium builds up in your body, it changes chemical reactions at a cellular level and has devastating effects on your metabolism.

Deuterium buildup can affect your ability to create and use energy, limit your DNA's ability to replicate, change how you respond to clinical treatments, and generally change, on a fundamental level, how your body works and, as a result, who you are.

So sit down and get ready for Deuterium 101 because the doctors are about to share some information that everyone on the planet needs to know.
