Today I have a conversation with Dr. Chris Motley, a Chinese medicine practitioner, kinesiologist, and frequency medicine expert who has spent more than two decades exploring the connections between our organs, infections, emotions, and overall health. We get into why he believes many popular detox protocols can actually make you feel worse, the overlooked importance of properly clearing the gut and bowels, and the surprising ways chronic infections, parasites, emotional trauma, and even family patterns may show up in the body. We also explore radionics, energetic testing, homeopathy, addiction and surrender, and why sometimes the symptom you’ve been chasing isn’t where the real problem started.

Dr. Chris Motley is a globally-recognized alternative health practitioner specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, frequency medicine, and kinesiology.  His mission is to eliminate fear surrounding health information and empower individuals to take control of their wellbeing.

Dr. Motley says most detox protocols end up poisoning the person doing them, and almost nobody talks about why.

Dr. Chris Motley is a Chinese medicine practitioner, kinesiologist, and frequency medicine expert who's spent 22 years watching organs, emotions, and infections behave as one connected system.

We start with poop. Then it gets weirder: childhood staph infections, parasites hiding in biofilms, and why cleaning your bowel might matter more than any longevity protocol. Then there’s that one wild patient story I still can't shake.

We explore the emotional side of organs, like why the gallbladder holds onto stolen identity/property, and how family trauma imprints on specific body parts across generations. Plus radionics, electrodermal EAV testing, and why he thinks homeopathy outperforms a cabinet full of supplements.

I also go on a tangent about addiction, surrender, and why helping someone who doesn't want to change makes both of you sick.

If you've been chasing symptoms for years without answers, this one will give you a different map.

[[Luke] So I got an idea I wanna run by you.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] I wanna start a new podcast series called the Turd Talks, where we just talk about poop.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] No, just kidding, but not. I've, you know, I've listened to some of your podcasts and things like that, and you have a wealth of knowledge, which is why I'm so excited to talk to you. Mm... one thing that I was really pleased to hear when I started doing my research on you is you're really big on educating people about, you know, the bowel and, Yeah... the movements therein. That's right. And this is something that I don't hear a lot of practitioners talk about. It's kind of awkward, I guess, for some people. Yeah. Yeah. But when I started my health journey 29 years ago I was following this guy, Dr. Schultz, at the American Botanical Pharmacy out in, out in LA. Mm-hmm. And he was really big on Dr. Christopher, who's an

[Dr. Motley] Herbalist. Dr... Oh, yeah, bowel, lower bowel, yep.

[Luke] Yeah. And so his whole thing is, like, you don't do anything, you start with the bowel. And so, you know, he's got a program where you take, you know, binders, and then you take herbs that make you go, and you clean on that. You start, you know, you start downstream, basically. and I went and did a series of colonics in Hawaii for two weeks, and all these mucoid plaque rolls- Yes... coming out of me, and the whole thing. But that was, like, the biggest turning point in my health- Yeah... was that, and that was the foundation. But as I'm sure you know, in the health and biohacking space, these trends, like, come and go. And so over all these decades, I've kinda watched things come into public awareness and then leave, and that's one of them. I was like, "You, there's a-

[Dr. Motley] It's the basis...

[Luke] There's a lot of data there, A, and also all of the other health interventions, in my opinion are gonna fall short if you don't have that straightened out. So let's launch there with number twos and see what you have to say.

[Dr. Motley] Oh, okay. So when we talk about, Welcome

[Luke] To Turd Talks.

[Dr. Motley] Welcome to Turd Talks. it is the basis and the foundation, and not just because we talk about it. I do think that with the biohacking world, we talk about longevity, then cellular health, and then I do think that it has some good credence into that realm. But when somebody cannot poop and somebody can't eliminate, I wish it would just go back to the simple basics, because that's where it would all start. And even when patients come in and they have different types of poop, there's a poop chart, it has the one, two, three, and four. One of the biggest keys like seriously in Chinese medicine, is the stability of the bowel and how it feeds all the other organs. The bowel has a really centralized focal point for all of, all your health. Now, I will say that when patients do come in, you will see all different types of poop. I have seen like parasites in poop. But the quality of it, you'll see people that have mucoid plaques or foam. Even if it's watery or loose, you'll see people that have mucus, foam, even white strands. And what that would tell me, though, is that there's going to be some forms of biofilm. And people, in my opinion, don't understand with poop how much biofilm builds up within the bowel, and that's why he's talking about taking the binders. And if you do study biofilms, which I do like a nerd, is you'll see that different infections such as bacillus bacteria, pseudomonas, babesia, rickettsia, strep, and staph. There is so much staph that people have that you don't even realize you had since you were a kid. And when you eat sugars in your diet as a kid, all that staph moves inwards and goes where? To your bowels. So you have a heightened amount of biofilm mucus in your bowel. And the problem is that staph can hide underneath them. We've heard about biofilms, but the other problem is that whenever you, let's say you're around somebody that has strep infection or by chance you go to a country or you're here and you have something with parasites, they go to where the biofilms are and they hide in there. So if you have any plaquing stuck, the biggest key is that it will fester and those infections put off their waste. They'll poop and they'll pee. Literally parasites will do that. And staph and strep put on heightened amounts of neurologically harmful chemicals. So when we talk about the basis, if you want healthy memory and healthy basis of mind, if you don't clean your bowels out, you won't achieve longevity. That's my personal opinion. So when we talk about the importance of how much you should flush, you have to try to find the biofilms. And this is for people out there that said, "Oh, I had strep three times in a year when I was a kid," or, "I had a horrible staph infection," or, "I had horrible UTIs with E. Coli." E. coli will create tons of biofilm. And so whenever we go into the realm of like where do I start with my patients, first thing is I ask, well, do you poop? So I have three questions: Do you poop? What kind of poop is it? How many times do you poop a day? Same question is: Do you have energy throughout the day? No. And how do you sleep? They're all based on how well you poop. And I got stories, man man, I don't wanna like bore you to death, but-

[05:48]

[Luke] No, I'm very interested, I think-

[Dr. Motley] It is truly like

[Luke] I This import- this is really important information for people because to your point, especially in the anti-aging biohacking space, the optimization- Yep I feel like so many people miss this. There's a couple things I feel people miss often. One is the bowel, two is your light environment, three is EMF. Oh. And so I'm just always Annoyed at how much emphasis is put on, like, your diet? If paleo, vegan, carnivore. It's like, dude, you sleep next to a WiFi router. That's right. Like, you know, your house is lit up like the like it's solar noon at midnight. You know? It's And

[Dr. Motley] You can't sleep.

[Luke] Yeah, exactly. And that's

[Dr. Motley] Truly...

[Luke] Yeah. And So the bowel stuff, to me, we I mean, we could literally do a whole episode about it if you have enough data, but I think it's just really foundational and important.

[Dr. Motley] Let's do it. Yeah. Like, this is good. Like, I think, um-

[Luke] Oh, another thing. Early on Dr. Schultz, one thing he would talk about is he spent some time it was in the Amazon or something studying you know, indigenous people that were cut off from Western culture and diet and everything. And he said that a natural human will defecate about 20 to 30 minutes after each meal.

[Dr. Motley] Mm. A

[Luke] Natural. Which is about three times a day. Yeah. And it's, obviously it's not the meal you just ate, right? But it's the one prior. And so his whole theory was if you're not, if you don't have bowel movements like that, good luck being healthy.

[Dr. Motley] There's,

[Luke] ThereIt doesn't matter how much, like, NAD and, like, all the red light therapy, all this stuff you do. Blood work... you're kind of, like, polishing a turd. To put it, you know, in the context of our-

[Dr. Motley] And it's really truly hard whenever, you know, when they have that much film in their gut. Like, those are the individuals who will take so many supplements, and they're not absorbing it, so they go get their blood work and say, "Well, it didn't rise." And I was like, "Well, you've got not only mucus in your colon. It's probably up in your small intestine as well." So you're truly in that realm. Are we going right now? Is that right? We're on. Okay. I was, like, making sure. But one thing that also comes into play when you're around high EMF, I want people to know that the colon, emotionally too, what can occur in Chinese medicine world and Ayurvedic world, is individuals who can't let go of the toxicities in their life. So I always say whatever you're thinking in your brain If I can't let go, let go of a toxic relationship, a toxic job, the colon will listen to that too. So if it knows that you're holding onto a toxicity, it won't work either. And so individuals who have undergone control all their life, like they were in a harsh household, and probably parents were basically very domineering and they felt controlled or by a job, it makes their, basically their bowels tight. And what you'll see is it stops the flow of energy, of chi, and then you start to have all this accumulation. So not only do you have emotional toxicity and backup, you start to have physical. So the basis of it is if you can actually get your bowels to move, could your emotional status be a little bit, you know, lighter and a little bit stronger? Because you're always gonna view the world as though you're in a toxic world if you're backed up, if you're not pooping. So I always tell an individual, when your bowel movements change, let's say if a person has those little hard rocks, they see the little hard rocks that fall into the toilet bowl, normally that would tell me that you have severe gallbladder issues because you have to release enough bile to make your poop smooth, and then you have these little crevices where they get hard. And you look at the signs and symptoms of how they look, and you can tell which organ is contributing to it. So if you can look at your poop, if they're floaters or sinkers, if they're floaters, that means that you are not getting rid of the fats or digesting your fats. So the first thing I would say is, "Gotta look at your liver and your pancreas." And that's how you look back, 'cause you know you have to get the bowel. So let's say you wanna get your bowel cleaned out. You're taking your Metamucil, I'm serious, or your psyllium seed husks, and let's say it doesn't flush as well, like you're not flowing, but you notice that there could be a floater, all right, and it happens consistently. My thought would be since the pancreas releases lipases, like enzymes to help with your lipids and fats, and your liver does too in some in cases, I would go back to the pancreas, and then you check the body at certain areas where the pancreas is involved, such as your mid-back pain, your lats, tricep pain, temples that have pimples right on this area. These are small signs and symptoms that you could look at the constipation and you say, "Oh, your pancreas is involved." And then you always go back to their emotion. That's where I always go to the basis. I'm like, "Did you ever feel like you were accused or blamed when you were a kid?" And I'm gonna tell you almost 90 to 100% of them say, "Yes, I was. I had a very harsh life. I had tried to be a perfectionist because I didn't want to receive blame. I wanted to take care of everybody else before I was taken care of. You're more important than I am." And that weakness in that organ created a cascade of where you couldn't digest your food and move it along properly, so you had to look at those side symptoms- Mm-hmm With your constipation. And to me, you're totally on spot. That's why I love talking with you, because I tell people, "If you're not pooping and I kill off all the infections that I can, it won't do you much good." So I actually see it as, I say, a failure when I'm working on somebody and I can't get them pooping just one time a day. I don't... I hate to say it, I don't really care what else is going on. I need to get you to poop. So with, like, your own personal journey, do you ever feel like you've had times where you had, like, constipation, or have you always flowed?

[11:07]

[Luke] I... My digestion's always been my weak spot, so it's, like, either constipated or real loose. Yeah. Like, yeah, maybe that's why I'm so into this topic, 'cause even after all these years, like, I don't think I've nailed the gut health thing. I mean, I've made a lot of improvements, you know, using digestive enzymes and butyrate and, you Mm-hmm... bitters and all kinds of things like that. But it's... I usually end up asking questions to guests selfishly because I'm trying to figure something out on my own.

[Dr. Motley] No, I'm glad. I love

[Luke] It. But it's... Something, like, just fundamentally common sense-wise, too, about the colon cleansing and just being regular is you know, now detoxing has become so popular and prevalent, which makes sense because we live in such a toxic world. Mm-hmm. But I see so many people doing you know, fasting and liver flushes and gallbladder cleanses and kidney cleanses and all these things, right? Heavy metal detoxing.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] And no one's talking about, like, what's happening downstream. So the way I think about it in just kind of a mechanistic way is if you're encouraging your eliminatory organs to dump all of these toxins, where do you think they're going? And if you're not moving that fecal matter out of you, to me, it makes sense that you're just reabsorbing all those toxins, right? 'Cause it's like the inside of your... We don't, we don't think of it that... I don't know. How do I say this? It's There's a hose, there's like a garden hose going from your mouth to your anus, right?

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] And that is actually outside of your body. That's the way I look at it.

[Dr. Motley] It is.

[Luke] Right? It

[Dr. Motley] Is.

[Luke] And so in that tube, however many f- 50 feet or whatever, I don't know how long it is, you'd probably know. But in that tube, everything is supposed to stay inside of that tube and not go into your bloodstream and not plurif- what's the word? Proliferate. Proliferate Mm-hmm... your body, right? Yeah. So if you think about your colon, it's like mucus membrane, like the inside of your mouth. Yes. So everyone knows if you take a sublingual supplement, it's going right into your bloodstream. So I've always thought, well, it must be the same way inside of you. So if you're detoxing metals and whatever, glyphosate and all these pesticides, and you're detoxing those and you're not moving them out, they're just gonna reabsorb into the colon and then they're back in your bloodstream, and then your liver has to deal with them all over again. You're kind of like this closed loop recycling- 22... system of poison.

[Dr. Motley] That's it. Like, I always, I agree 100% because if you do a cleanse, and people who've ever done yeast cleanses or mold cleanses, and I love it, but they'll say, "Oh, my poop slowed down, and I stopped pooping, and it got inefficient." Exactly. It's like even the walls of the colon can get overwhelmed by how much toxicity is going in there, and most people who have had mold or candida issues or any type of parasites, they already have, well, let's say leaky gut, but they'll have porous issues around their colon lining. And so you're right, it just jumps right back into their bloodstream. The one thing, without sounding negative, is exactly when it shoots back up to your liver, when you get colon that it has fecal matter, remember, your body will initiate inflammation, and we all talk about histamine. There's a ton more interleukins and different types of inflammatory agents. But the crazy thing is, like, a lot of the blood will go back up to your liver and try to be cleansed out, and so you'll get an impacted colon, and then you'll start to have your bloodstream filled with histamine because you're starting to put junk back in your bloodstream and all this histamine's rising. The liver grabs it, and the liver's supposed to decompose your histamine. That's the normal thing. Then people start getting allergic reactions. They'll start getting skin issues, and they start getting allergic to everything they've eaten. It's because there's too much histamine in their blood. And the one thing that's harsh is Whenever you get a liver that's filled with histamine, it has a small-- There's veins and arteries that branch off. They'll shoot up into the heart. So your heart's trying to get clean blood from your liver.

[14:58]

[Luke] Oh, wow.

[Dr. Motley] It's like, "I want clean blood." Right. Your liver's like, "Well, I got too much histamine in my-- in-- right now, but I gotta give you what I can." So then the heart gets overwhelmed, and people start getting heart stuff, like little fibrillations. And so it's all from the colon. And so I tell people, I'm like, that's where in Chinese medicine I really think it's really cool is that they call, they call the heart the fire element. You know, it's really hot. It's a metabolic, you know increased organ. And the fire melts the metal, and your colon's your metal, and that's what it means is that whenever your heart is really overcharged and it's really hot, it tells you that the metal element is really affected. So you kinda make those relationships within Chinese medicine. So if you have an impacted bowel, I will say this. I'll start talking fast because I love this subject. I had a child that had that came in, and I've known him since he was, probably since he was 11. I think he was 13 or 14, and he always he had neurodivergent issues And when he would come in, there was an area, they call it the valve of Houston, nerd term for, like, right where your descending colon goes down and you expel. But ever since I'd worked on him, I got a lot of things cleaned out, but it felt good, but he would only be pooping, and he had to take high amounts of magnesium. He would have to take about six to eight magnesium a day. His mom would give him that, and he would finally poop, and he was-- his mood would get so much better. But it was a personal goal of mine. I was like, "I don't know why he's not pooping as well." We cleared a lot of parasites, et cetera. And but every time I pressed in this one area, I was like, "he's not going to get better if I can't get this hardness out of this colon," and I'm just gonna be the honest truth. I said, "We may have to find a colon specialist." So we found a colonics person, and she felt, and she goes, "It's too impacted." So we send him to get an X-ray. Wouldn't you know that he had impacted fecal matter literally all the way up from near his, like, the bend in his sigma went all the way up to his diaphragm, and it curled around, and his colon was, like, this big-

[Luke] Oh,

[Dr. Motley] Wow Impacted. Wow. And they went and finally they got the X-ray, 'cause you could see on the X-ray, and they cleared it out. And wouldn't you know it, like, his mood got so much better that he was actually, like, being able to drive on his own and to operate just by cleaning his colon out. So I'm with you 100% on Wow Man. I took too much time, but yeah.

[Luke] No, you got-- It's your show, bro. You know, you're the guest. You take as much time as you want. Another thing I learned early on that was a bit surprising 'cause I was aware of kind of standard colon hydrotherapy, right? Mm-hmm. Where it's, like, water pressure, basically. It's like a hose that goes up and another that goes out. I'm sure you're familiar.

[Dr. Motley] Oh, yeah.

[Luke] When I went and did that thing in Hawaii, the place was called Angel Farms. By the way, Jim, if you wanna put Angel Farms in the show notes, I think they're probably still around. It's on the Big Island in Hawaii, and it was... It's, like, a really... I think her name was Cindy, a really beautiful woman, and she just... Her life passion is, like, cleaning colons, right?

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm. Yeah.

[Luke] So you go stay at this place for two weeks. you don't fast, but you don't eat any solid food, just soups and smoothies, right?

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] And she had these custom-made colema boards, right? Which is... Colema's, like, a different type of, um... It's like a gravity-fed colonic, right?

[18:03]

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] And so you lay on this kind of inversion table for about two hours a day.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] And there'd just be, like, a gravity-fed trickle of water, and the way she explained it to me that's so fascinating is that when you go to a regular colon hydrotherapist, and God bless them, I'm sure they're all doing great work and there's a lot of benefit. But she explained that you're only-- if the, if you have too much pressure in the water- That it's only getting to the descending colon- Mm... and you're not making it to the transverse colon and the ascending colon. Yeah Right? 'Cause you have like a U-shape, right? U shape,

[Dr. Motley] Yep.

[Luke] And so I was like, "Yeah. Whatever." So I did the first few days, and some stuff was coming out. Yeah And then at a certain point, you could see your water. It went into, like, a tub, so you could poke around in there with a stick-... and look at the parasites and stuff. We're all showing each other what came out of you today. but anyway, so we're at, like, day 10, and I'm like, "I think I'm good, you know. I'm gonna go to the beach. Nothing's coming out." She's like, "No, you gotta keep going." And it was, like, day 10, 11, or 12 or something that we finally got to the ascending- Ascending colon... colon, to the end of it.

[Dr. Motley] Yep

[Luke] And then all these crazy black ropes came out that had probably been there since- Sorry 1973 or something. Yes. You know?

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] And so that was, like, a huge eye-opener for me. I was like, "Oh, okay. So-

[Dr. Motley] It's not getting all the way to the

[Luke] Very end... yeah, not every kind of colon hydrotherapy is equal, and I'm sure there are ways to do it with the, you know, the kind of pressurized... where you could go enough times to get there. But that was a huge eye-opener for me, that it just, it takes a lot of time to get up there to where you're totally clear.

[Dr. Motley] That's... I'm with you, brother. Like, okay, so when I was experiencing Lyme disease, like, for, when I Oh, you had Lyme?... probably 30s, really bad. And, Oh... I almost quit practice. But when you would say gravity fed, I was... I would have constant mix between diarrhea, constipation, and then have big bowel movements. And I love probiotics. I take them. I honestly think that some people just need one or two strands of probiotic to help them move. But even when I was doing that, I still had impaction. I could feel it. I had a a lady that lived down south of Nashville, Franklin, and she was a preacher's wife. She's an old preacher's wife. They said, "You gotta go see this lady." And I was like, "All right. I'll go see her." And I was like... She said, "No." She looked. She goes, "Honey, you're so impacted, you're gonna have to be with me for six months." And I was Yeah... "But I'm a thin dude. There's nothing in..." Yeah, there's nowhere... there's nothing. Where is it going? So we went... Okay. I, the... No exaggeration, I went for three months, and I'd go almost weekly And I, she had the tube where, you know, I'm not trying to be too graphic, guys, but she would have the tube and she could manipulate the suction on the tube. And I will say this, after every time I did it, I almost felt like I got the flu. Like, I was like, I would sweat and I would just be on the tail like, wow, like, you know, you feel like you're getting a cold. And then one time she said, "Oh," she goes... And it got to where after about four months she would say, "Oh, here comes a demon. I can feel it." And I was like, "Oh, what?" And then she would see, like, she goes, "There's red worms." And she would see, and I was like, "Whoa." And then one day, no joke, it was towards the sixth month, I felt something, like, dislodge over on my right side, and it was like all this pressure in my body released and it was like a wave came over my whole body, and it was the weirdest feeling 'cause it just felt like something, like, forceful just went whoosh. And I and after that time, I never had another fever after that, and I was like, and I got regular.

[21:38]

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And it was just... But I felt, like you just said, I felt it over here. Yeah. So when they're doing normal, you know, like you said, colonics, I'm not sure, but you're right. It's like getting all the way to the appendix because Your appendix is like exactly where your, you know, basic all your white blood cells are there to try to help fight off infections. Well, what hides there? A lot of yeast. So it'll impact, but colonics, I promote them 'cause some... Do you ever have this? Some individuals say, "Well, you can't get too many colonics because your bowel movements will, like, stop on their own." It's like, no, mine actually increased after I got mine 'cause I got all the junk Yeah And all the mucus. Yeah. Is that like... When you saw the black stuff come out, like were they-

[Luke] I mean, it's a sense of relief.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. You know? You're

[Luke] Just Oh,

[Dr. Motley] Man...

[Luke] I mean, I was waiting for, like, Tonka toys. It's like, it's like when sharks eat a tire, right? Yeah. And they kill a shark, and they find, like, a shopping cart inside the shark. It was like that. I was like, "What are we gonna find in there? Like, marbles I swallowed when I was five?" No, it's, I mean, I love this... it's, you know, it's gross. Like, no one likes to deal with poop and stuff, but there is, like, a real, at least for me a sense of satisfaction when you have the visual- Yes Proof that something that doesn't belong in your system is getting evacuated. Uh,

[Dr. Motley] I totally agree because there's times when patients that I've had, and I've worked on them for years, and then we've really concentrated on their colon, and literally they'll send pictures of their bowel movements, and it may be graphic, but I've had individuals say, "What is this?" And there'll be, like, a patch, white, these big areas that are white patches, and they're eggs, you know? And literally- Oh, God... most I'm not kidding. Like

[Luke] Parasite eggs?

[Dr. Motley] Yes. Oh, God... I'm not saying little ones. I mean big, like, over quarter-sized, like, round in their bowel movements. And I'm like, "Did you swallow something that looked like that?" And they're like, "No." And when I researched it was like those are patches of eggs, and almost every single person that's had, like, an experience like that said, "I started bowel movement normally." And the reason I think that they did clean them out is because, you know, I do, like, muscle testing, but I sense a lot of stuff off, like with blood work and urinalysis. But if you find a specific species of, like, a bacteria or a parasite, and you try to find the herbs that actually clean them out, they'll usually, if your body can go after that one species, they're the ones that are, like, running the show sometimes, and then they get evacuated. Then all the biofilm starts to flush out, then you start pooping regularly. So I always really say that whenever you're doing bowel movements Or do any type of cleanses. Just try to find a practitioner, I would say, or just try to find tests, and I can give you a list of them for the captions, that really do try to find, like, specific species of them. And not to get hyperactive and just be focused, but it really does help to find out which one, because they do all give off different toxicities, and you have to be very mindful of the herbs. But I'm all for it. If you can't poop, go get a colonic. That's what I'm saying.

[Luke] Yeah. What does a healthy poop look like? You know, you mentioned does it flow, does it sink, these pebbles and things like that. Like, I actually to this day don't really know what it's supposed to look like, you know?

[24:43]

[Dr. Motley] Usually they should be... They'll say, like, they should just look like a big Lincoln log, you know those Lincoln Log? Okay. With small amounts of creases. You don't want... They like them smooth. and to tell you, like, when they have, like, the clumpiness on the sides, it means that normally in your colon, if you look at the colon, it has these, like, rugae and these, like, little out-pocketings. If you had impaction of poop too much, it pushes out on the colon, so your colon, if you had poop sitting in there, it'll take the form of the wall. So it has those little creases.

[Luke] Oh, right.

[Dr. Motley] If you're smooth, it means that your colon has been pumping normally and it goes and it just pushes out. 'Cause like you said, it's a tube that goes all the way down. normally you should have a good length, maybe a few inches on each poop. And if you've had really rock hard pebbles, that's bile. And looseness and chalkiness, that tells me that there's gonna be pockets, like, not diverticulitis, but there's diverticuli- Mm-hmm, mm-hmm That's built up, and you just don't really get them checked. So long, smooth poops, that's how it is. Got it. Yeah.

[Luke] Okay.

[Dr. Motley] Like one of my friends, her son, she calls them trucker poops. And I was like, "What in the world is a trucker poop?" And she goes, she goes, "I had a friend that was a trucker, and he says they are so busy on the go that they would just go and poop, and they could get done in, like, you know, 30 seconds and they'd be done." And I'm like, "I don't know anybody that has a trucker poop." But apparently he did, though. Yeah.

[Luke] I know someone who's a trucker pooper. Yeah, in and out real quick. I won't mention her name-... to save her anonymity, but I've always been fascinated. I'm like, you must be really in good shape there, 'cause, like, just in and out, it's over. There's no smell. I'm like, "Hmm."

[Dr. Motley] That is a healthy poop, too.

[Luke] That's not my experience. Yeah, what about the smell?

[Dr. Motley] The smell, you should have very low smell because if you had enough probiotic in your gut, the good bacteria should be able to neutralize all the gases that the bad ones are giving off. 'Cause you'll have, like, different forms of methane or hydrogen gas that are given off. So if you don't have a lot of smell, you don't have those... You get an OATS test they call it, and they'll have people that have, like, pseudomonas, or they'll have klebsiella C. diff, Clostridium, and E. coli. Those will give off, like, horrible smells. So, like, let's say somebody eats a meal, and they go, "Man, I had the worst gas." Okay, so they'll say, "Well, it smells like the food." That's the truth. But when you have a bacteria that is stimulated by the foods you ate, like whatever it was, and it goes and eat, you just made those critters come out, that particular species, and then they release their gas. So it was already in your gut. Like, it wasn't just the food. Those, you had some bacteria that was going after it, and they release their gases. So the smell should be less. You should be able to do it very quickly. And when you have passed gas, you shouldn't be doing it all the time, because if you do, then you're having too much bacterial load. But good bacteria in there is at a good level if you don't have smell. Like, thatOkay. And you shouldn't have anal itching too much. If you have anal itching, you got too much yeast or parasites in there, too, so.

[Luke] Okay.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah

[Luke] All right, you supplement junkies, listen up. If you're spending a bunch of money every month on supplements, I've got a potentially uncomfortable question. How much of that investment is your body actually using? I've spent the better part of three decades chasing the best supplements I could find, then it finally hit me. If my gut wasn't doing its job, I might as well be flushing a lot of that money down the toilet, and I'm sure I did. And this is exactly why Just Thrive Probiotic earned a permanent place in my stack. The dirty little secret in the probiotic market is that most of them never survive stomach acid, so they never make it where they need to go. Well, Just Thrive fixed that. Their stuff is clinically proven to arrive 100% alive in your gut, where it can actually make a difference. And something else I'm really excited about that they're doing over at Just Thrive is their digestive bitters. I've been taking them before meals, which has been a game changer. Bitter herbs help your body produce stomach acid, bile, and digestive enzymes to properly break down food. And shocker, better nutrient absorption means getting more from the food and supplements you're already taking. So if your gut's giving you a gut feeling right now, get over to justthrivehealth.com/luke and get free digestive bitters with your first 90-day probiotic subscription, 'cause sometimes the smartest upgrade isn't adding more. It's actually making more out of what you already take. So again, get your free 90-day supply of digestive bitters when you start a probiotic subscription at justthrivehealth.com/luke. What about this idea I've heard people talk about with colon hydrotherapy wherein, oh, you shouldn't do it because you're gonna be you know, wiping out the healthy flora in there. Mm-hmm. And so I, but I was going to... There's a great place called Alive & Well here. I always like to shout out them.

[29:29]

[Dr. Motley] Oh, yeah.

[Luke] They're in the neighborhood, and they had a... I don't know if she still works there, but they had a really great colon hydrotherapist, and when she's done flushing you out, she'll do an implant of butyrate and probiotics and things like that, and just leave that in when you're done-

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm

[Luke] For, I guess, to remedy that particular issue. Do you think that's a real problem if you're, you know, doing them regularly, or you do like you did, a series of them over a course of time? Is there any risk to kind of wiping out the, you know, the colonies that you want in there?

[Dr. Motley] I will say I've talked to a few colon therapists and doctors who are gastroenterologists, and they, some of them agree that you would wipe them out. In my opinion, though, like even personally experiencing it in patients, I would say this. If you are so static in your gut, and you have so much stasis, I do think you possibly could wipe... you know, draw some out while you're doing that. But we have to remember, this is the nerd section of it. When you have a bacteria that is a harmful bacteria, I think all bacteria have some good qualities in them anyway, but they have these small proteins on the side of their coating, of their cell wall, called adhesins. They're proteins that make them very hard to peel off, and a lot of your good probiotics have the same thing. They are there to implant into the wall of the colon so that they stay there. So no matter if you're having a bowel movement, they stay, like a lot of them do. A lot of your poop is bacteria. Now, you may wash them out, but my opinion is this. If you have a bad bacteria causing constipation They're overgrown to the fact that they're sticking on the sides of your walls. That's the key. That's what I'm saying. Like, you may wipe out some good ones, but they have, they've colonized so well, they're fighting against the good ones, and apparently they're winning. And so if you go get a Viome test or get a, you know, bacteria, they'll say, "Well, you're very low in these four different types of bacteria." It's because the bad guys have killed them off. So many times they're like, "Well, take these good bacteria." And that's true. You start, maybe start pooping more 'cause they may start to win. But in my opinion, if you do flush them out, I'm all about, like, getting the bad bacteria out there first so you then can colonize the good guys. 'Cause if you put the good guys in there, it's like putting the Army and the Navy in the inside, and there are these bad and you need to get a gas bomb, and you'll just be just letting out gas this whole time. Does it work after a few months? I think it does, and I think people out there said, "Yes, it's worked for me." But in my opinion, you can pull out the good ones, but I'd rather just go ahead and flush things out and then recolonize. Yeah. It's like cleaning house. It's like-

[Luke] Sure...

[Dr. Motley] Do you wanna clean out your closet and have a just flush the whole thing out and redo it. Sure. That's how I am.

[Luke] Do you think it makes sense at the end of a colonic to put some butyrate or probiotics in there?

[Dr. Motley] Yes, I do. I like that. It's one of one of the things that two of our colon therapists in Nashville do. Butyrate's so good 'cause it helps build up the the wall lining. So I do see it has benefit, and I would say this, every patient that has done that, they've gone and done their organic acid test, and they've gone and done Viome testing, and it made a significant change. So I would Wow... yes, and there may be people that disagree, but everybody that's brought back their tests have done really well.

[32:39]

[Luke] Yeah. I got a guy that's been on the show, a friend of mine, Dr. John Lieurance I

[Dr. Motley] Know John.

[Luke] Yeah, and he makes these butyrate suppositories. Dude, any time my gut gets weird, I pop one of those in for a couple days, and it's, I'm instantly cured. Oh,

[Dr. Motley] He has a butyrate suppository?

[Luke] Yeah, they're amazing. Yeah, and, I'm getting them... he gets really great results with IBS and things like that, like when there's a lot of inflammation in there. Dude. And I guess the theory is, like, if you take butyrate orally, there's a company called BodyBio that makes really great butyrate supplements that you swallow.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] Oral supplements. but his theory there in developing the the suppositories, the bullets, as he calls them, is that-... you know, by the time, when you swallow them, by the time they get where they're going- Mm... they're kind of diluted, right? And Yes... if you're just introducing the butyrate right into the colon, like, that's where you want it to end up, and it seems to have an incredible ability to heal the lining in there and seal things up.

[Dr. Motley] I would do it because, like, your okay, so your sphincter and that area is so very absorbable, so that would totally... Like, there's, I've used homeopathic suppositories, and I've used them for liver stuff, and it's cleared up my liver stuff doing that. When you say the butyrate, I'm super excited because- When I first started out, I have a buddy who lives here in Austin, and this guy was... He was, like, one of those guys before his time. And Matt Buckley, Dr. Buckley, he's a good dude. Like, you can check him out, but not... I love the guy. but he put me on these butyrate capsules a long time ago, and basically you find butyrate in raw butter. Like, you'll find Yeah... in raw butter.

[Luke] That's why it smells like

[Dr. Motley] Feet. It smells like feet. Yeah. Yeah. And I would take it and I would be like, "What are you giving me?" He goes, "Dude, it's like raw butter." But I will say after I started doing colonics, I had some of the best digestion. And I don't know why I stopped doing it, but the suppository makes a little more-

[Luke] Yeah

[Dr. Motley] A little more, like sense to me to do it that way-

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] Actually,

[Luke] Though. Pretty cool. Yeah. I mean, you know, not everyone's down for the suppositories. To me, it just, I like that delivery system because you get, like, a if you do NAD or glutathione or whatever, you get sustained release where it's in your blood plasma for a much longer period of time. Wow.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] Versus even if you go do an IV of something, the half-life of that is pretty short. Wow. That's Right? 'Cause it gets metabolized so quickly, whereas if you have the suppositories that are made with palm oil and so they kind of melt-

[Dr. Motley] Melt

[Luke] Over time... over time with your body heat, right?

[Dr. Motley] That's

[Luke] Good. And so you get, like, a longer period of absorption. Same thing with his high-dose melatonin. So it's just I have

[Dr. Motley] Tried his high-dose melatonin.

[Luke] I love him.

[Dr. Motley] I couldn't believe-... when he told me the first time. He goes, "Take this much melatonin." I was like, "You want me to do how much?" Yeah. And he goes... I did it, guys, and I was like, dude, I was clear and I detoxified really well Yeah After that. And when Yeah... when he he was always really that doc at his office where he had some of the coolest equipment. Like, he would do prostate methylene blue, like, injections. Yeah, I've done that. I didn't do that, but I was like, I saw it. I was like, that is amazing that they Yeah Those things. But one thing though, before I forget, though.

[35:43]

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] I'm getting too hyper. but I would- All good... say, you know, when I

[Luke] Made your coffee strong.

[Dr. Motley] I know. It is so... Guys, MCT butter, oh my goodness, so good. I'm talking fast. but when you think about, literally when you say blood plasma, where it stays in the blood, there's one thing that I heard this one doc told me. He said that when you study, like, genetics, suppositories work really well, he said, because the lining of the anal area and even the cervix in women, even up in your prostate as It's made of certain cell layers, okay? So it's made out of ectoderm, which is one of the cell layers or cell types you're made from basically. So that same type of cell also makes up the tubes in your liver, the bile ducts. It also makes up the tubes in your kidneys. It makes up part of your brain. So when you take something and you affect that tissue, you're also, it's like those, that same, whatever you're putting there will actually travel to those organs efficiently. So you start seeing people who detoxify their liver better, their kidneys, their brain just by doing suppositories.

[Luke] That's cool.

[Dr. Motley] And I was like, when he told me that, I was like, and I studied, I was like, "That's pretty nifty, man. I'd like that." It is. Yeah, man, yeah.

[Luke] It is, yeah.

[Dr. Motley] And it's like people out there are like, "Okay, whatever,"

[Luke] Well, with the, with the, with the melatonin, I always travel with the suppositories you know, when I go through the TSA, and I'll have a little ice pack in there and they always pull it out. It's like, "What is this?" I go, "It's medication." By the way, just a hack for anyone, if you travel with weird shit like I Yeah... I always just say it's medical, medication. And they're, "Oh," it's like there's some sort of-

[Dr. Motley] Sort of you say medication?

[Luke] Yeah. There's, like this just happened. I just was in Costa Rica and I always travel with a little oxygen canister so I can, like, keep my oxygen levels up Yeah The flight. but you're not supposed to bring them 'cause they're like liquid is how they count it.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] And so when we were coming back, I ordered some and I got the wrong size. They're over four ounces.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] So it flagged them and the x-ray thing says, "Hey, what's this?" And I said, "Oh, it's, that's medical oxygen," I said, you know, to him in Spanish. He goes, "Okay." Just immediate pass. Yes. Yeah, I'm using-... it's a hack for anyone. You just say this is... Like, I have all these devices I travel with and I just go, "Oh, it's a medical device," lasers and whatever, you know?

[Dr. Motley] I have my laser in my pack, so... But seriously, like, I gotta get the name of the oxygen tanks that you like to use 'cause I They're

[Luke] Called Boost Oxygen. You get them on Amazon.

[Dr. Motley] Really?

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] Okay. I'm

[Luke] Gonna get those. And so I'll just keep them, you know, I keep them in the little compartment in the seat in front of me and just, you know, every 20, 30 minutes just take a couple hits off that. So

[Dr. Motley] You just say it's medical. I-

[Luke] Yeah... I'm gonna

[Dr. Motley] Try that.

[Luke] At one point I was, you know, I'm always, like, trying to quantify things is what I'm doing and spending money on actually worth it, so I travel with a pulse oximeter.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] And I check my levels and it would, it would dip down to, like, 89, you know, when I'm on the flight, and that's not good. Couple huffs of that, back to 99, you know? So-

[Dr. Motley] I'm doing that.

[Luke] Yeah, it works.

[Dr. Motley] I love those. So you always say medical. Like I remember one time I was taking Arnica gel and I mean, people say Arnica for pain. No, I love Arnica gel for my patients, and I always take one because I always put it over the area where you have, like, organs that are not working 'cause it relaxes the organ. And I, you know, it's maybe, it's funny you mention that because- The guy pulled it out and I said, I said, "Well, it's the cream that I use for, like, my organ stuff." And he said something like that. He goes, "Oh, so this is a medical something?" And he goes, "I'll just take it over here." And then he let me go through.

[38:59]

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] That happened a few weeks ago. I

[Luke] Think it's something in the rule book, right? Where they, it's kind of a hands-off thing. I mean, I travel with peptides and syringes and all kinds of stuff, you know? I'm just like, "It's medical. It's medication." And they'll let you through most of the time. They've taken my oxygen things a couple times, but most of the time they-

[Dr. Motley] They don't say anything

[Luke] About it... they let

[Dr. Motley] It fly, yeah. I'm health hacked. This is what

[Luke] I... You'll remember. 'Cause I always set off the TSA thing, you know? I got my massage gun, they panic 'cause it's, like, a gun shape. I mean, it's just ridiculous.

[Dr. Motley] I had one guy that pulled me over 'cause I had, like... We do, like, content, and I had one of those stands that you can open up and it holds your phone.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] And the guy literally pulled me over and he... And I was like, I didn't have any water or anything in there. And he goes... He told his teammate, he's like, "Well, it looked like a lightsaber to me, and I didn't know if it was, like, a knife or something." I was like-... "Oh, okay." I was like, "If we had lightsabers, that'd be awesome." But anyway. Yeah. Yeah.

[Luke] So your practice is in in Nashville?

[Dr. Motley] In Nashville. Right in the south in Franklin.

[Luke] Oh, okay.

[Dr. Motley] And I've been there for about... I've been practicing, like, 22 years. Like, a little over 20 years. Oh,

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And treating... Like, working mostly in the Chine- mostly all the Chinese medicine. Okay. And when I first started out I'll make it quick and short, I I was one of those individuals where I thought I would go to... I went to chiropractic school because my dad's friend said, like, "If you like neurology," which I really do, he goes, "You can actually do neurology-type stuff, but also do different types of supplements and things," which I really didn't really know a lot about supplements when I first went in. And when I got there, and I mean, I got the degree, but the reason that I got into, like, the Chinese medicine world, 'cause I got my diplomate, I got certified in acupuncture, is because I had a car wreck right before I went to school. Like, right before I went to chiro school, and I had a really bad rear end wreck. And I, my neck was just I couldn't it was hard to move. I'd get, kept getting headaches and neck stiffness. Well, I was getting it worked on even when I went to school, and not saying that they did a bad job, it was just that my neck would keep feeling like it was out of place. Guy that was, like, about to graduate, he said, "Hey..." He lived near me at school, and he goes, "Hey, just come over and I'll do some of this work on you." So he does some of the same stuff with acupuncture, acupressure, some kinesiology. And basically he said, "Well, what's your digestion?" Now... And I said, "What do you mean, what's my digestion?" He goes, "Oh, well, your neck right here is locked up because that's your gallbladder meridian And he goes, "You've got gallbladder issues probably in your body and probably in your family line." My grandfather has a gallbladder taken out. My dad has severe gallbladder issues too. So he did this work on me.

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And man, I had, like, rigor mortis, like, for, like, two days 'cause I felt all this movement. He did all these points on me, and then graphically and when I had bowel movements, all these green bile balls came out after he worked on me. And then I slept, like, 14 hours for, like, two days in a row, which I never do. I don't... You know, sleep very little, and I'll... I sleep now a lot better. But I literally, my neck got loosened up, and I can move, and I said, "There is something to that. Like, that's crazy." And so then I started studying acupuncture pretty heavily and about how organs and your muscles are intertwined, and their connecting pieces is your acupuncture system. So you could basically find out what's going on with an organ by finding out which muscles are off, and you can use the acupuncture to balance it. So that's how I got into it, and man, I never thought I'd go into, like, the metabolic realm. I never thought... I didn't wanna do that. I wanted to do just bones and ligaments.

[42:28]

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] And the and I was like, "I'm never gonna touch an emotion. I don't even... I don't know what that is. I don't even care." And then all of a sudden, the one of the first patients that came in, this little kid came in and fell out of a tree. And one of my buddies, close friend of mine now, and the ear wouldn't stop, and it kept ringing, and it had, like, you know, some issues, then he kept getting ear infections. I do my type of testing, and I was doing some testing with frequency devices, and I said, "Well, it's coming up emotion And I was like, "Oh." So I didn't know a ton about it. Well, I did some of the techniques I learned, you know, go to classes and stuff, and it went back to his mom. Nothing against his mom. Mom's a great mom. And I did some points and did the procedure, and then he's like, "Hey, his ear's not bothering him anymore. The ear infection left." He went back to the doctor. And then after that, this is the kicker, all these people came into my office that wanted emotional work. And I'm not a counselor or therapist, so I'm not saying that, but it was like that calling, that energy gets, you know, put out there. Yeah. And so I had to learn more and more about emotions. A lot of my patients are stress, emotional patients. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And people think that it's, you know, it's energy, and they kind of think it's woo-woo when you think about, like, emotions. But I'm like, no, there is real physiology behind your emotions. When you know Chinese medicine or study it, I don't know all of Chinese medicine, but if you know how your body hormonally reacts to an emotional trauma, you'll find the organ that's mainly responding to the stress. If you investigate that organ, it tells you physiologically how they're responding to their emotional trauma. And you work on that organ, hormones balance out, emotions start to fade. They'll process it better.

[Luke] Incredible. Isn't that crazy? I mean, that's the problem with Western medicine, is it's so compartmentalized and mechanistic, right? We think of everything in isolation.

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] Right? And then you have, like German new medicine- Oh Going to your family- Love it... family line and family tree.

[Dr. Motley] Love

[Luke] It. Like you were talking about the gallbladder stuff in your family.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] I have a similar thing. I have a kind of temperamental left shoulder, like, just always, it's always kind of funky and weak. It's just, I mean, it's not my dominant hand, of course, too, right? But it's just, there's always been issues. Both my brothers and my dad, one of my brothers had actually, I think both of them have had shoulder surgery, and my dad had left shoulder issues. It's like, what? It,

[Dr. Motley] It's,

[Luke] It is. I-... it's trippy. But it's probably, like, I suspect it's probably, like, emotional trauma and alcoholism and whatever shit in my family line going back God knows how far, right? So it's not like my dad injured his shoulder, then his sperm carried that signal into our mom's. you know what I mean? Yeah. Like, it's, there's something energetic about it. Just my intuition tells Yeah... that it's, like, passed down, but not in terms of, like, your genes. It's passed down in terms of an energetic imprint.

[Dr. Motley] That is, that's exactly. I had one practitioner, and he's an old school dog. He told me, he says they're like energetic blueprints. He says it's just like how you're formed in the womb. Your hands are formed by following the electrical, basically, pattern, that your cells follow an electrical pattern to make your hands. That's why they're following an electrical blueprint, and I think it's the same thing. I think, like when my dad had his gallbladder issue one of the main things, like in German medicine, they would say the gallbladder has to do with, for women, it's somebody who's taking your, or trying to take your identity. For men, it's for somebody who's trying to take away something that you've earned or you've worked for, like somebody is trying to take your property away or your money.

[46:01]

[Luke] Like the IRS.

[Dr. Motley] Exactly. And if they do it'll, it is like somebody robbed me from it. Yeah. And the liver has to do with-

[Luke] But there are other forms of parasites

[Dr. Motley] That's exactly right.

[Luke] The government is, like, the biggest parasite on the planet.

[Dr. Motley] It's, it, but, like, with alcoholism, with liver, normally you would look back at a trace in line, and the liver has to do with, like, they call it starvation conflicts, which means, it doesn't mean starvation from food, which it could be, like in your family line, I'm not trying to pick you apart.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] But it could be, like, if somebody was starving for love or affection, starving for a job, starving for support, and the liver will kick in and say, "Well, I need to work hard or do something to make amends for this starvation." So the methylation and all that biochemical stuff will kick in. The liver gets tired It builds up histamine 'cause it's tired, it can't flush it. And what do you do? You get angry. So you start to get angry. See, it starts that energetic blueprint.

[Luke] Right.

[Dr. Motley] And that's, your body's following the energetic blueprint. So people think it's, like, severance. Man, it's really cool, though, when you say, like, your left shoulder. I can't tell you how many people come in with a knee issue, and everybody in their family has a knee issue. Like, all of them. Yeah. And I'm thinking, "It's emotional."

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] It's crazy. And there's no, like, I can't tell you. They're like, "What is it?" Like, it's all emotional. Like

[Luke] So you know, you're into some pretty esoteric medicine. I imagine if you've been doing that 20-plus years in Tennessee, I mean, you're probably kind of, maybe not as much now 'cause this information's getting out, but you must be kind of a rare breed out there.

[Dr. Motley] Well, I would say that not trying to toot my own horn. I'd Yeah... that like, it became a little bit, I think, 'cause people told me this, what they said, that whenever somebody couldn't figure something out emotionally or if they said that if you have a Like, even some orthopedics and docs, they would say, like, "If you send it to Motley if you can't figure it out," and then I can tell them what I think it is. And I'm not saying I fixed it, but over the years, it's, I've had to learn, like, emotional connections. And this is why, because, like, even in the office, you would have a kid that would have severe, like, staph or something like that, and I would put laser on them or I would hit acupuncture points, and the mother would be nearly, literally near them, and they would go, "Man, I'm just feeling really lightheaded, and I'm feeling like..." And I'm not working on her 'cause I'm working on the emotions of the kid, and Mm-hmm... affecting her biofield, too. Yeah. Yeah. And so when we say esoteric, it's like the biofields are really resonant with each other. I mean, I can tell you a story. I know you know this. Like, I've had couples, older couples, where one guy had severe prostate issues, almost high PSA levels, like prostate almost cancer issues. Clear it out, doing pretty well. But while he was in it, I can go through the story backlog, he would go manic 'cause kidney infections make you kind of go manic, but we were working on it. He had to sleep in the other room Before this, before he had this, the wife was having bleeding issues, in her 60s. So we worked on it, and I'll tell you some of the techniques, and I said, "Well, there is emotional fatigue because she has over-concern in her family," and it was just draining her spleen, and her spleen was just hammered. So we worked on that. Thankfully, bleeding was letting go. He came back into sleep next to her, and her bleeding all started to come back again.

[49:14]

[Luke] Oh, shit.

[Dr. Motley] To me, it's this. It's like they go, "What is it? Is your husband making you sick?" I am not saying it's making you sick. I can't say that. But the emotional field, and you say, like, when people come to me, it's like you can work on one person's emotions, but I... Hopefully it's what I do. I try to take into account what the whole family's doing. It's just like one family has strep, all of them have strep. Why? 'Cause that emotional field's already there in all of them, and everybody feels it in the house, though, too.

[Luke] Totally,

[Dr. Motley] Man. I get so excited about it, but Totally But 'cause when people do come in and talk about biofield training, my mentor, he created a... It's called BSI. It's Biosystems Integration. Everybody has, like, a technique, and I'm not praising it or trying to promote it, but what you would find is that when you're close to me and I'm close to you, if you are ever outside and you get close to somebody and you say, "Well, I get a bad vibe or a bad feeling," we know how people feel and they say, "My skin crawls when I'm around them," or, "My, you know, hair on my skin stands on end." And truly, that's a galvanic skin response. Your skin is like a lie detector test. It changes the magnetism in your skin, and that is proven. And it is not woo. It literally changes-

[Luke] That's incredible...

[Dr. Motley] And you, and you're so sensitive, right? Like, you could. I know you can read somebody, and I can tell you can feel somebody's pain.

[Luke] Oh,

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. I know you can.

[Luke] 100%.

[Dr. Motley] 100%, because you've heightened-

[Luke] Which sometimes is kind of a deficit. I've had to learn how to... My wife's helped me a lot with this, to temper that empathy- Yeah... with discernment.

[Dr. Motley] Mm.

[Luke] Right? Because I can... It's like I can see past someone's shit to the soul behind it, 'cause I see the pain, 'cause I've like many of us, I've had a lot of pain in life.

[Dr. Motley] Yep.

[Luke] I've, I know what suffering is like intimately. But it's like I do feel that. I do get the galvanic skin response, right? But it's like I've had to really work to not be naive and also keep healthy boundaries with people that are, that are in their pain.

[Dr. Motley] That's a great point, because-

[Luke] So that I don't-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah

[Luke] I don't get too close and start to interface with their biofield and take that on. Oh,

[Dr. Motley] That's a-

[Luke] It's like knowing what's mine and what's not mine, and being able to be of service, have empathy and compassion, yet at the same time know where the line is, which has been a difficult lesson for me, yeah.

[Dr. Motley] I think it would be really tough when you say the empathy part. I would wonder, too, I'm asking because when you've experienced pain as you have, so severe, when people out there have suffered, like it really does heighten your pain receptors. It really does. You train your pain receptors in your body to grab onto the molecules that would actually initiate a pain indicator, a pain signal. When you've done it for so long, and you're learning, like you're training your body saying, "I don't have to take somebody else's on," you've actually increased the number of receptors in your body. So if somebody else is feeling pain, they're gonna stimulate your pain receptors, 'cause you've built them up so long because you had to experience it.

[Luke] Oh, wow.

[Dr. Motley] And so you can feel it. You know, you're like, "Eh, I know where that person's hurting. I know it's their dad, and I know it..." You can, I know you can. Yeah. Yeah. But when you feel it's like, you know, does divine allow you to go through that situation so you can have empathy? But you're right, the walling off is hard, because I mean, in the patient load, it's like I've absorbed a lot of energy over the years, and I'd Wow I'd get done and I'd feel a cough-

[52:27]

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] Exactly like they had. And I would be like freaked out. Well, the first time I was like, "This is what Joanne just had." Joanne. I'd be driving and I'd be coughing. I was like Huh. and well, I'm gonna ask you though, too, this, like, whenever you've gotten this, how you feel biofields, do you naturally, especially, like, feeling somebody's empathy, do you have, like, a practice? You can talk about in the other podcast. Yeah. But I'm like, do you... What do you do, like, to try to, like, wall off or know, you know, to kind of-

[Luke] Well, I think it's like most of my experience with working with people directly in a healing or mentorship practice has been within the context of addiction recovery-

[Dr. Motley] Mm

[Luke] Uh, which I was very involved in for 20 years. Mm. And so I've got very accustomed to being around really sick, dysfunctional people.

[Dr. Motley] Mm.

[Luke] And, you know, it's like if you're a recovering addict, you have a unique ability to help a fellow addict because you've been where they are.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] Right? Yeah. And there's... You can get past the ego defenses and, like, get through to someone's soul in a way that the police, judges, divorce lawyers, therapists, et cetera, can't.

[Dr. Motley] That's right.

[Luke] Right? Preachers. It's how many people have tried to go to church to get over alcoholism? It doesn't work. Mm. Why? 'Cause the preacher's not an alcoholic. You know?

[Dr. Motley] Makes perfect sense

[Luke] If the preacher's a recovering alcoholic, all of a sudden your ears perk up and you're like, "Okay, that person's trustworthy because they really understand what I'm going through," right? That's good. That's

[Dr. Motley] Good. So

[Luke] The positive in that is I, you know, have been able to be in, put myself in the position to be able to really help people transform their lives just by sharing what's worked for me, right? Yes. Spiritual principles, the 12 steps, and so on. What I had to learn was that The defining characteristic that determines whether or not I'm going to get infected with someone's psychoemotional spiritual sickness is determined by their degree of willingness to change and their- Yeah... the authenticity of their desire, right? Do they just want attention? That's good. Do they just want you to, like, help kind of put some salve on their pain and they're gonna just revert back to their patterns? Yes... do they really wanna change? In other words, is there enough humility and teachability there where the light of healing can enter and do its work? That's good. And so my determination is, like, I can, I can... I have a pretty high tolerance for being around someone who's unwell.

[Dr. Motley] Yep.

[Luke] But I'll get sick if I bypass my inner knowing that they don't wanna change.

[Dr. Motley] Ah.

[Luke] So if they don't wanna change, I mean, I'm sure you've experienced this in your own way as a practitioner- Oh, this is great. This is... Yeah... as a clinician. If they really don't wanna change and they're just kind of playing along-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah...

[Luke] I'm much more susceptible to taking on their shit. Whereas, like, I can get in the ring with someone who's really dysfunctional and sick, and I'm totally protected if they have that, the prerequisite of willingness and honesty. Yeah. If they're willing to be honest with me and themselves, we got something to work with now. And so it's like the difference between, okay, someone falls in quicksand and, "Help me, help me, help me," and you're on dry ground and they're like, "Please, help me." A lot of people that are sick wanna pull you into the quicksand-

[55:49]

[Dr. Motley] Oh,

[Luke] Man. That's good... 'cause misery loves company, and they want that coherence. What they're seeking is coherence. And Man... they're gonna, they're gonna draw you in through some sort of covert unconscious manipulation to get sick with them in that quicksand-

[Dr. Motley] Oh...

[Luke] Which is codependency. But if someone's super sick and they could be up to their frickin' neck in quicksand and they reach their hand out, it's like I know if they're really willing to climb out and do their part, I'll put my hand in and I'll help pull 'em out, but I'm not jumping in there.

[Dr. Motley] That's so-

[Luke] Which took a lot of years, you know, of trial and error to figure out, right? 'Cause I'd jump in a lot, and all of a sudden now I'm, like, entangled with someone in their, you know, in their sickness. Ah. So that's and it's a long-winded way to say that's kind of my-

[Dr. Motley] No, it's good...

[Luke] My process of discernment to know how diffuse or firm those boundaries need to be.

[Dr. Motley] Whoa, dude.

[Luke] Right? So if, like, if someone's in pain and they come to me and they're, like, crying crocodile tears, it's like I have a pretty good sense that they don't wanna change. They just want attention.

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] Or they just want to feel better temporarily, but they're really not willing to do the work, and the work for me is a complete surrender to God.

[Dr. Motley] That's amazing.

[Luke] And if you can't get to enough... If you can't get yourself to a place of enough pain where you're willing to surrender to God, then I can't help you. 'Cause all I'm doing is being a conduit for God you know?

[Dr. Motley] That is true.

[Luke] God's just working through me, so if you're blocking God, then you're gonna block God working through me to try to get to you. So it's just pointless. So the most loving thing I can do is just allow someone to be in their suffering and to get themselves... I mean, I'm speaking more in the context of addiction here. But it's like it would be a disservice to someone to kind of medicate their emotional shit. It's like enabling them. Medicate.

[Dr. Motley] That's a-

[Luke] It's like enabling them by giving them love when they're not actually able to apply that love into changing their life.

[Dr. Motley] Oh, my goodness.

[Luke] So it's like, it's like pearls before swine kind of thing, right? Yes, exact- It's like I'm pouring my heart into someone that really doesn't wanna change. And that gets to be where you get both people end up sick, you know. And I don't wanna be sick. I've worked really hard to be well.

[Dr. Motley] That's exactly... I mean, so you s-

[Luke] I don't know how we got on that, but.

[Dr. Motley] No, like, to me, it's truth bombs for me because when you said the whole first part when you talked about as in somebody who's not willing to put into it, I don't really think about that when I treat. So I'm telling you, like, to me now when I look at a patient, I'm gonna literally think about that.

[Luke] Yeah. '

[Dr. Motley] Cause there's not a, the willingness. Well, you

[Luke] Know, it's different, too. Like, when I was doing that kind of work and working one-on-one with people, I wasn't getting paid either. So it's a it's a, the dynamics of it are a little bit different, where I think if you're a practitioner that's getting paid, there's reciprocity and there's an exchange there.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] To me, the boundaries would be easier and more clear 'cause it's like you walk out the door of my clinic, and our relationship is over after that time that you've paid me for. Yes. But if you're not getting paid, it can get really kind of messy because That's right... there's much more intimacy and consistency there if you're on the phone with someone, like when I used to sponsor guys and stuff. I mean, you're their lifeline, right? And so if you're a lifeline to someone who's not interested in living you're on the path to dying with them

[59:17]

[Dr. Motley] Oh my goodness. I'm thinking about this. I, like, guys, I'm gonna have to think about this because whenever you've, you have experiences with patients for years, you, at times, like you said, if you have an exchange, it's great. Because one of my friends used to tell me, he goes like, "Money's like the exchange of energy." As in, like, let's say I did put into a patient and I got money back, he's like, "That's a fair and equal exchange, but if you weren't getting paid for it, I that would just be, like, siphoning you, and like-

[Luke] Yeah

[Dr. Motley] There's no yin-yang

[Luke] To it." Well, and the exchange when there's no monet- when it's not transactional in terms of a monetary exchange, The reciprocity to me is the fulfillment of being of service and just unconditionally loving someone- Mm... through their shit.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. That's good.

[Luke] But again, if they're not, if they're just playing along, in other words, it's like the difference between compliance and surrender. Oh. Right?

[Dr. Motley] That's so good. I gotta write this down. So,

[Luke] So compliance is... You're supposed to be the guest, but whatever.

[Dr. Motley] No, this is like what I love.

[Luke] I'm inspired, so I'll just share this. It's really good information to have for anyone that's trying to help other people, professionally or otherwise. But it's like, again, going back to addicts. Addicts are so manipulative because you have to be in order to sustain that kind of lifestyle, right?

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] So an addict will feign humility and feign surrender by acting through compliance, which means you're going along with and you're agreeing, and you're kind of like feigning that you're taking direction and you're following orders, so to speak. But there's still an inner resistance that the ego's still holding onto and won't let go.

[Dr. Motley] Wow.

[Luke] And so there's still an inner battle going on within that person, where with surrender, it's complete and total. It's just like when I surrendered when I got sober, I mean, I had no reservations whatsoever, and that's why it worked, and I'm still alive today, 29 years later.

[Dr. Motley] Wow. '

[Luke] Cause I was just beaten into a place of humility, you know? Yeah. That I finally was just like, "Okay, I give up." And in that full surrender- Mm... versus compliance, then you're completely open to the grace of God coming through other people to help you, right? That's right. 'Cause it's very, it's difficult, especially when you're new on the spiritual journey, to like tap into God directly.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] So in my experience, God has worked through other people. But if I was in compliance, I would be blocking that light-

[Dr. Motley] Oh...

[Luke] Because I'm just playing along. And playing along. Right? I'm still, I've still like got, I've still... Like, I'm hiding my my hand, you know, like a card game, right? I'm like, "I got a, I got a ace over here that I'm hanging onto," you know what I mean?

[Dr. Motley] That's a good analogy,

[Luke] Though. Whereas like surrender, I'm putting all my cards on the table, and I'm throwing up my hands and going, "Hey, man, this is, this is the truth," and I'm able to be vulnerable and transparent-

[Dr. Motley] Mm...

[Luke] And real and from a place of surrender. Mm. And when all the cards are on the table, I could sit with someone like you or anyone that's trying to help Mm And we go, "Okay, now we're getting real. We're getting honest. We see what the raw materials are here that we need to work with to catalyze change." But if the raw materials- Materials... are being withheld and there's still a resistance, if the ego's shell is still armored, then you can't get through to anyone, and you just gotta let them suffer- Wow As hard as it is, and you just gotta know that not everyone makes it. Wow. And that this isn't our only lifetime, either. I've watched so many addicts die, and after a while, you kind of... It's not that you become calloused. You just know, like, "Um, this wasn't their turn."

[1:02:48]

[Dr. Motley] Mm. See-

[Luke] For some of us, this is our turn. Like, for me in this lifetime, this was my turn.

[Dr. Motley] This was your turn because of the experiences, and you lived in-

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] Complete

[Luke] Surrender. And how, you know, who knows how many times I didn't make it because I couldn't surrender. Wow. You know? Like, this is I gotta get... Okay, I'm gonna get back to you. No,

[Dr. Motley] No. I love this. Keep going. Okay. This is why I love this.

[Luke] Okay. When I Love this... researching the history of treatment for alcoholism-

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm...

[Luke] Um, you know, prior to the 12 steps emerging in in 1935 when AA was founded and then the book came out in 1939, prior to that, this... And I'm not saying there weren't other things in history that worked.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] But in recorded history nothing really worked to help addicts and alcoholics. One of the... 'Cause it was treated as a crime. Yeah. It was treated as, like, a moral failing- Really?... and not an illness. Yeah. Back in the day and you can fact-check this, people listening. I might have some of the dates wrong, but I'm just gonna say in the 1700s or whatever, in Scotland, the way they used to treat alcoholics-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah

[Luke] Is they would they'd put them in a catapult, right? So they're in, like, a little bucket seat that's on a huge log, and they would, like, tie them to that and dunk them in a river- No... and give them, like, kind of, like, advanced waterboarding, and that was, like, the punishment/treatment for alcoholism. And these are, like, the archaic ways that people used to try to get through to alcoholics.

[Dr. Motley] Are you-

[Luke] Yes, by punishing them, you know? Which obviously doesn't work 'cause if you just create more pain, then obviously that person's gonna try to alleviate their pain by numbing it with whatever they're using. Oh. You know?

[Dr. Motley] That literally... Okay, that's in put, dumping, dunk-

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] River in there.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] Man.

[Luke] Well, it's crazy. I mean, Wow... 'cause throughout, at least in Western culture alcoholism has historically always been treated as a crime.

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] You're, like, drunk in public. And even now, being drunk in public is, you know, there's a code for that, and you can get arrested for it, right? Yes. And get charged. So that's how it always was, but it was treated as a crime or a moral failing because of the lack of understanding that person is ill, and they literally have no choice but to do what they're doing-

[Dr. Motley] Mm...

[Luke] Until and unless they have some kind of divine intervention through the process of surrender wherein the all-powerful, omniscient God, source, higher power can come in and rearrange that person so fundamentally- That's good That the impossible becomes possible. Wow. And thatYeah, 'cause it takes a miracle to get someone out of that kind cycle

[Dr. Motley] That's why the... It really hits hard with me in a good way, 'cause I have, like, family member, like, that's really got still in the middle of it. Oh,

[Luke] Man.

[Dr. Motley] It's brutal,

[Luke] Dude

[Dr. Motley] It's hard. and to be, like, open about it's like no matter how many suggestions I ever give, how much money I give-

[Luke] It's, you're talking to a brick wall, man...

[Dr. Motley] It's, that's how it feels to me. It's

[Luke] Just, you

[1:05:48]

[Dr. Motley] That's how it feels... another

[Luke] Crazy thing- Yeah... and then we'll get back to you. No. I love that... This is the last thing I'm gonna say. but I'm very passionate about this topic. another interesting thing about addiction in contrast to other pathology-

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm...

[Luke] Is that when you have an addict at the center of a family system-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah...

[Luke] It infects everyone else in the family.

[Dr. Motley] Really?

[Luke] And makes all of them mentally and emotionally Mm... through codependency, to the point that, you know, after AA was around for a few years- Yeah... they realized that it was mostly men in the beginning-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah...

[Luke] Uh, who were members of AA. And they started to find that men would relapse so often if they were married to a woman that didn't also get into some kind of a treatment. Mm-hmm. And so they, that's where the program of Al-Anon came from.

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] It was made, originally it was, it was formed by the wives who were who were made ill by just being in the proximity of the chaos and destruction of having an alcoholic in the family. So sad. You contrast that, if someone in your family has cancer, everyone rallies around that person and supports them and loves them. And it might be difficult. There might be some grief and sadness and-

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm...

[Luke] You know, obviously, like, no one's happy if someone you love has cancer, but it doesn't make everyone else get cancer.

[Dr. Motley] Yes. That's a good point. You know? I never thought about that.

[Luke] Yeah. Wow. If you have an addict at the center of a family system, everyone gets addicted to fixing that person.

[Dr. Motley] Yes. That's a good point.

[Luke] And then they get sick, and that's, you know... I mean, there's a lot of definitions of codependency, but in the context of the point I'm making, that would be one sort of variety of codependency, where somebody gets addicted to saving, rescuing, fixing the addict in the family. And you can... Dude, a great show to watch if, if anyone wants to see this play Yeah... the show Intervention- Intervention... on A&E.

[Dr. Motley] Is it great?

[Luke] Incredible. I mean, it's really brutal to watch, especially when the person doesn't get sober at the end. Yeah. The premise of the show is they follow around, it's like a documentary-style show, right, where they, each episode is focused on one addict, and the family's all up in arms. And it's tearing the family apart- Mm... 'cause the person's killing themselves- Mm... living on the street, shooting meth in their neck, whatever. And you'll see the whole family get sick. Because they have one sick person in the family. And what they'll do is if the you know, producers of the show spot that, they'll put the rest of the family in treatment for codependency and send them to Al-Anon because they know the person will never be able to get sober when everyone else is still sick. So they have to heal the whole family of addiction.

[Dr. Motley] The whole family.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] And that's why I didn't know that Al-It's crazy... like, the family members went to there.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] Wow, that is-

[Luke] Isn't that wild?

[Dr. Motley] It is wild.

[Luke] It's a trip. Uh- 'Cause it's a spiritual disease.

[Dr. Motley] That is a good point,

[Luke] Man Addiction is a spiritual disease that manifests as physical illness and mental illness, but ultimately it's a thirst for union with God.

[1:08:55]

[Dr. Motley] Oh my goodness.

[Luke] And so-

[Dr. Motley] I'm seeing this is-

[Luke] Yeah, so-... I'm

[Dr. Motley] Registering

[Luke] This for the first time... so it's like if you if you have someone at the center of a family who's an addict, they're so distant from their source and their essence of being an aspect of God, they're so cut off from that it starts to cut everyone else in the family off from God. Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] It's crazy. Oh, I'm not gonna- that's Yeah... truth.

[Luke] I had no idea we were gonna talk about this.

[Dr. Motley] No, I love it. ThatYeah... you're hitting truth bombs- Yeah... and for me right now, and thatYeah... what I'm feeling right now.

[Luke] I'll close with this. A piece of advice for anyone, you included, that's dealing with an alcoholic or an addict, someone you love. If they're not willing to change, the best thing you can do for them, generally speaking, is to not help them.

[Dr. Motley] Wow.

[Luke] And let them hit bottom.

[Dr. Motley] Wow.

[Luke] Which is easier said than done, you know? Yeah. And I have a demonstration of that, and this, I swear to God, this is the last thing I'll say.

[Dr. Motley] I love this, man.

[Luke] People listening are like, "Shut up, dude, you have a guest who knows-" No. Yeah I

[Dr. Motley] Love this, man.

[Luke] I don't know. I got inspired. It's good inspiration... so I have a younger brother named Cody, and I'm pretty sure he, I'm quite sure he wouldn't mind me breaking his anonymity in this way. But I got sober. I was probably like eight years sober. Mm. And he followed in my footsteps and became an addict. Not solely because of me, but you know, he went down the same path. And I was living in LA, I'm sober, I'm in my program, you know, my life's getting better and better, and he moves to LA, and he was like, he was like a he was like Eminem. You know, this is back in the, in the early 2000s. He was like a little white rapper- Yeah Gangster guy, you know? Yeah. who like, talked like he was a Black kid, even though he grew up in a place where there's probably not one Black person.

[Dr. Motley] Wow.

[Luke] Super funny. Yeah. there's a word for it that starts with W, but I don't wanna offend anyone. But he was like one of those little gangster kids, just a little hard-ass, violent, always fighting, carried guns and stuff like that. Mm-hmm. So he moves out to LA. He's on drugs, he's carrying guns, he's getting, like, violence, you know, just all the things. He gets kicked out of his apartment 'cause he beat someone over the head with a gun that tried to rob him. And he comes to my house and he wants to come live with me. He's like, "Dude, I'm homeless. I need help." And it was one of the hardest things I ever did, but I said, "I can't help you, dude. Like, you can't come in my space with what you got going on. I love you, but it ain't happening."

[Dr. Motley] Wow.

[Luke] And he, you know, of course, was, hated my guts and super pissed off. Wow... but because I didn't help Mm-hmm The most loving thing I could do based on the wisdom I had at that Mm... was to just let him sit in his shit, and he got sober soon after that, and to this day credits me not helping him as the most powerful way I could have helped him. Wow. Because he did hit a bottom, 'cause he had to go sleep in his car. Wow. And next thing you know, he's calling me up, "Dude, will you take me to one of those meetings?" I was like, "Yes." And he's still sober, you know?

[Dr. Motley] That's what I'm you have to let Yeah... hit rock bottom.

[1:11:55]

[Luke] Yeah, but, you know, as I said, easier said than done, and it's nuanced, right? In some cases, It's hard for parents especially, right? Oh, it's tough... like on that show Intervention, the parents will be paying that, the kids' bills Yes... taking care of all their shit and enabling them, thinking that they're loving them just because they can't withstand the pain of, well, and the pain that they're going through, and also the possibility of guilt and remorse that if that kid goes out and dies, they're gonna have to live with that for the rest of their lives, that they didn't help them by paying their credit card bills and taking care of them and bailing them out of jail and doing the whole enabling dance, you know? So it's really tricky and of course situational, but as a general principle, I would stand by based on my experience that-

[Dr. Motley] You got to do that...

[Luke] Sometimes you just gotta cut ties and you have to accept that person's fate is in God's hands and not yours.

[Dr. Motley] You're speaking to me right now, 'cause I've literally been

[Luke] Through I guess there's a reason why I'm being inspired to share this with you

[Dr. Motley] You really, it, like, I'll tell you more, but it's true. It's speaking to me right now, so I have to do that. All right. Good deal. Oh my God. This was so good, man. This is great. I appreciate this, that I always think that when a conversation occurs between two people, it's like, I love just good convos because I always feel like you have to have golden nuggets of like truths that you need to learn from this, you know? And that's like-

[Luke] Yeah, me too...

[Dr. Motley] When you feel that energy go between individuals, you're like, I know I had to have pieces of that, like be absorbed to teach me. So it's all about teaching. Part of things. That's why, that's why I love it. So good, man. This has been great.

[Luke] Here's what's up. The longer I've been in the health space, the more I've realized that the environment around your body is just as important, if not more important in some cases, as the things you put into it. You can eat clean, sleep eight hours, take all the right supplements, but if your body's swimming in a sea of wireless signals 24 hours a day, that stress can sabotage a lot of that hard work. And that is why my Quantum Upgrade subscription is still active after all these years. It's pretty incredible. It creates a coherent quantum field around my home that harmonizes EMF so it's less disruptive to my biology, and I can even take it with me when I travel. There's no pills to take, nothing to track, no devices, nothing to remember. It just runs in the background while I get on with living my best life. And what I love about these guys is that they're always innovating. They recently added a growing library of boosters that let you personalize your experience, from recovery and deep sleep to creativity, travel, and even meditation. So you can log into your account, set your booster, and run. So to upgrade your life, get over to lukestory.com/quantumupgrade and use the code LUKE15 to start your 15-day free trial. 'Cause if you're gonna invest in your health, don't ignore the environment in which you live. That's lukestory.com/quantumupgrade. Okay, so thanks for indulging me on on that that download. Just came out. But I wanted to let you know, this is the Boost Oxygen.

[1:15:07]

[Dr. Motley] Ooh.

[Luke] Yeah. I grabbed one in the break.

[Dr. Motley] That's what you... And then you

[Luke] Just put Yeah, but this one's too, this one's too big. This one is Five?... liters. The ones that are easier to get on the plane are much smaller, about half this size.

[Dr. Motley] I'm gonna get them.

[Luke] Yeah, it's

[Dr. Motley] Pretty, it's pretty cool. Because it's like, so you can buy them right off Amazon? Mm-hmm.

[Luke] Yeah, and I was in Peru last year. gonna... We like way up in the Andes, and so I packed a bunch of these. And, you know, there's the, such little oxygen up there at 10,000 feet or whatever. And we're hiking up these mountains, taking Huachuma journeys, and doing this crazy shit. And I'm huffing on these the whole way, and it was like the only way I was able to withstand the altitude. And that's what most people use them for. You'll see them at like Yeah... and stores like that, right? For people that go to do high altitude sports and stuff.

[Dr. Motley] I will say like one time, like when I'm, I took my mom to Ecuador, and she used to smoke. It was before her stroke. And they the doctor gave her like coca leaf tea, but when she went up there, it was so thin that we had friends that lived down there, and they would, they told her like, "No, you're gonna have to have oxygen the next time you come," 'cause her heart rate went, just went out through the Yeah And stuff like that. So. The

[Luke] Coca leaf works, too. Cheap. I was chewing the shit out of that stuff, and I was like, no, it's not like an, a kind of a... It's like you'd think it's just like a folk medicine myth that, oh, the people in the Andes like chew coca leaf for the altitude. It really works.

[Dr. Motley] It, she drank- Yeah The tea, and literally within 20 minutes, Yeah...

[Luke] Heart

[Dr. Motley] Rate went right

[Luke] Back down. Unfortunately, I found that coca leaf to be quite sticky. Really? So I've, was never able to use it with any kind of discipline or discretion, so I recently had to stop. Mm. It's kind of like microdosing cocaine. Yeah. It doesn't get you high, but it definitely like affects your Mm Uh, in a way for me that was like, felt a little too good.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] A little too often. Anyhoo next thing I wanna talk about with you is I definitely wanna get to parasites more specifically, but while we're at it, since I just had to take a pee and I'm finding that I'm having to do that more than is normal or natural.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] I'm sensing there's some prostate stuff going on, and we were talking about Dr. John. I did have a couple treatments with him. One was like methylene blue injection right into the cavity of the prostate. We also did an ozone gas, a couple of those right in-

[Dr. Motley] Really?

[Luke] Yeah. because I had a test, and there was some bacteria you know, bacterial infection in there.

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] And but it, I don't, it didn't clear it. You know, I sense there's still something there. And so not just the prostate, but with any organs, let's talk about how Infections can get in there, and the thing that is challenging to me, like in that case, it was very kind of an aggressive treatment 'cause we're going right into the cavity with the ozone or the methylene blue, so I thought, "Aha, I'm getting inside that little pocket where the biofilms and all that weird stuff is," and still it didn't, it didn't clear it. Hmm. and so with the prostate and any other organs that are kind of closed systems, how the hell do we get any herbs or anything in there where there's little blood flow and no oxygen, you know?

[1:18:16]

[Dr. Motley] It is tough. I would use the prostate example, and I mean, I have some patients I can give a little bit example, but totally right about the low blood flow with prostate and even if you're talking about areas of the cervix and the ovaries for women. But the prostate especially, though, it... And I will get a little technical, but I'm gonna try to make it very plain. Yeah, go for it. But when you're forming in the womb, when you're as an embryo, and I'll get a little specific, but the same, they call it the same cord. It's the same line of organs that are being made that make your kidneys and your bladder also eventually turn into, the lower portion turn into your prostate, your penis, and all those areas. So I want people to know, like, when you get a prostate issue, and it's true if there's bacterial infection, you need to go after it, but normally if the prostate is ever infected, it normally means in my world that you have to go into a bladder infection or a kidney infection that's hiding. Oh. So you, when you go right to the prostate, you kill it, and this is what I've seen a lot, that an individual actually have a UTI or kidney problems that they've had for a very long time that they had since they were young. And point in case, I had a patient that had, his PSA levels were right at that brink of getting, like, to cancerous levels And so when he came in, I'm not ever saying I cure cancer or anything of that sort. I'm saying that whenever he came in, I did, I have a little EAV machine that checks the energy, the electrical acupuncture energy of the organ, and his bladder meridian was through the roof, like it was so inflamed. His kidneys were super low. So his bladder was inflamed. Well, with the prostate issue, because he would have to get up like six times a night, and he would have to go pee all the time. But I do some frequency testing and I said, "Well, you've got E. coli, I believe." And that's a real normal one is E. Coli. And I said, "You got a little bit of strep." Well, he didn't remember ever getting E. coli when he was a kid, but he said he got strep a lot and he took a lot of antibiotics. And then he went and got a urine test, and they said, "You don't have E. coli." Okay, so this is a kicker. So I said, "I believe he has it, so I'm gonna give him things like Uva ursi," which is an herb for kidney. Yeah. You give him some chrysanthemum, a few things that could actually clean it up. Well, he went down to peeing two times a night, which was great, and so I thought maybe we're getting... His signals from my world, his bladder was starting to even out. It was going low. It was balancing out, and he says, "Man, I'm not... I'm sleeping through the night. I'm peeing regular." I said, "Well, you have to go get your PSA levels checked in about three months. That's what they say. Let's see what they, what they do." Well, thankfully, he had really good alternative health type family members, and one of his uh, family members said, "Hey, I think you should do D-mannose." I like D-mannose. I gave him, had him taking one a day. That's it. But she goes, "And also this other herb for UTI, since, you know, you may have a UTI." I said, "Well," I told him, I said, "Before you take anything, don't, you know, let me know so I know what's going on." Well, he's a gung-ho kind of guy, older guy. He took a ton of D-mannose, took a lot of that UTI stuff, and then his wife calls me back and says, "Hey he's going... He's, like, manic. He's walking around pacing saying, 'I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die.'" He goes, couldn't sleep at night, went to the hospital and such. Well, because in the olden days, like back in, even in England, they would call it small brain syndrome, 'cause kidney UTIs, people go manic. And then when he took all that D-mannose, the hospital took another urinalysis. Remember, a week and a half or two weeks ago, he didn't have it. He had a ton of E. coli in his urine, 'cause it knocked all that biofilm loose out of his bladder.

[1:21:39]

[Luke] Oh.

[Dr. Motley] And he had all that still stuck in there. I think it was a divine gift. I said, "Okay." So I said, "Don't take any more of those things." We had to modulate it. He had to take an antibiotic because it was too high. He started to get... And we, they got weaned off of it. But he started to clean it out, and his PS PSA levels dropped.

[Luke] Oh,

[Dr. Motley] Okay. And you would say, like, why would your prostate... 'Cause the prostate is a small ring where your bladder is filtering right down into that area, and those infections will get in the bladder, and they'll just slowly seep into that prostate.

[Luke] Okay.

[Dr. Motley] They... It's in proximity. So think about all the arteries that are around your bladder, and they're running up to the kidneys, and a lot of the material of your ring, it is made... The bladder has the same type of material on the outer coating and through your kidneys. So they don't care where it's at. They go, "This is the cells I like. This is the material I like to..." Like a termite into wood. They like certain material, and they will go in here. You can kill the prostate bacteria, but you gotta get the bladder. You gotta get the kidney. There

[Luke] It is, dude.

[Dr. Motley] I could... I'll tell you some stuff, and

[Luke] Mystery solved Mystery

[Dr. Motley] Solved. Yeah. And well, you'll- '

[Luke] Cause I'm like, logically, I go, "Dude, if you're filling the prostate with ozone gas," I mean, I'm talking, like, I don't know how Shoo... cc's, but, like, a big-ass needle full. Oof. To where you feel it going, like the pressure of the gas filling up the prostate. I also was

[Dr. Motley] Wondering, the pain, I mean-

[Luke] Not painful, just uncomfortable. Kind of like a feeling like you have to pee.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] You know, sort of feeling. Yeah. Definitely not comfortable, but not painful. But yeah, I'm like, "Oh, I'm golden." Like, there's, nothing's gonna survive that ozone, you know, direct contact, right? Yeah. and it seems like it did based on the symptoms, but that makes perfect sense.

[Dr. Motley] I'm telling you, but when you ever... Okay, so if you ever had prostate stuff, you get it done. for people out there, if you ever suspected, you say, "I have prostate stuff," and then "What if I... kidney and bladder issues?" randomly, not all the time, kidney and bladder meridians run through the legs. So people could have pain in the arches of their feet randomly, cramps in their feet, cramps in their calves or tight calves, tight hammies, internal knee pain Sometimes dark circle underneath the eyes or tight hip flexors. If you randomly get that and you have this urination issue, you got a kidney infection, literally.

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] So those Wow... your signs and signals. Like, and so then another one is, like, if you have the bladder and prostate issue after 3:00, you'll notice that you get really tired. That's what I'm saying. People go, "Oh, I gotta get my coffee," 'cause the kidney time in Chinese medicine, the restitution for you to relax and restore and be with your family and eat and drink, 3:00 to 5:00 to 7:00. Those are the times when the kidneys... If you get really tired and you go, "Man, I'm dead," after that... For women, too. If they do it, they're kidney and bladder infection, and it all goes down to their urinary system. So I'll, Wow... tell you some things. I'm not acting like I know it Yeah... but I'll, Hey... do my best.

[Luke] Dude, lay it on me, man.

[Dr. Motley] Man, it's... I love it. I love when you start finding stuff and cleaning it out and such, man, but it's... I got so cool stories, though.

[Luke] I mean, it's just... It's going back to what I was saying earlier, just how everything is so interconnected, you know? And that's... I think that's why some of these health issues are so difficult to untangle 'cause it's like there's so many points of contact within your physical system, right?

[1:24:52]

[Dr. Motley] That's right.

[Luke] I mean, leaving aside the energetics and emotional and all that, but it's just like you go, "Oh, I treated the prostate. I should be good." Nah, not so fast.

[Dr. Motley] Not so fast. You know? Those termites. Those termites, Yeah, I

[Luke] Like that, termites. That makes

[Dr. Motley] Sense... they go in, and they're like, "Oh, he got ozone gas." They just go, "Oh, I'm just gonna move my way up to the bladder and back up to the kidneys." And so-

[Luke] Right...

[Dr. Motley] You can go point specific, but prostate and any organ that you find that you have an infection in, just study this. It's very, you know... It's a lot of investigation, but I'm saying this. Always study the arteries And the material of that organ and see where all the tubes connect, 'cause those infections will travel down those tubes to the other organ and hide. That's what they do.

[Luke] Right.

[Dr. Motley] They're always hiding.

[Luke] Right. Right.

[Dr. Motley] And I... And that's why I even love start- studying German new medicine. Study that, it'll tell you how all cell types create certain organs. And it helps the mystery of people that are suffering, like from something, they go, "Man, I did a treatment and it kinda came back." I'm like, "We gotta get those kidney and bladder things cleaned out." And the beauty of it is this, though. Like, as you heal, this is encouragement. You clean the bladder and kidney out, you know that it's a water element, okay? So the water element feeds the liver, so it feeds the liver. The kidneys help feed the liver with fluids. But what feeds the the kidneys? The metal. The metal feeds the water, makes it mineralized. So if you got your kidneys and your prostate, I mean, got those things cleaned out, and sometimes you still have aggravation, what do I do then? I go to the metal element, 'cause it fed right into the kidney. So I go to the lungs and large intestine. So you go and check, make sure they don't have constipation. So you clean those bladder and kidney out, but then you sort of make your way back up, and you'll start seeing this good rotating, like, healing process if you go after each organ. Mm-hmm. So yeah.

[Luke] Mm-hmm.

[Dr. Motley] That's a lot to say for a little bit, yeah.

[Luke] That's great. And then what about parasites? I mean, this is one of those things that goes in and out of popularity, right? Yeah, all the time, yeah... in the alternative health space. There's years where everyone's talking about parasites, then it disappears for five years- It totally... and then it comes back you know? Yeah... the thing that is confusing about parasites to me is, um... and Allison, as she was saying, she just did a cleanse. She went and saw Dr. Ann Shippy here, a great practitioner who's been on the podcast, and she did stool tests and found parasites. Yeah. And so she got on the African met juices Oh... and started clearing all those parasites. So I'm like, "Oh, she's golden." But then I hear about like, oh, parasites get in your heart, heartworm, and I'm like, okay. If you, if you drink herbs that kill parasites, the black walnut hull, garlic, whatever, right? okay, great, we got 'em out of the digestive tract, but, like, how the hell do you get parasites out of organs or other tissues in the body where they're hiding? And how do you even test for them if they're not showing up in a stool test?

[Dr. Motley] That's a really good question. I would say that if it was in the digestive tract... And I will try to, like, summarize it. But if you, if you had infections like she had, like in the colon, it built up in the colon, you made a great example about the tube. Like, it's literally an outside tube. Alimentary canal, this literally goes from your esophagus down to your anus. Normally, if you take the herb, it should affect that whole alimentary canal because they're all made of endoderm. They're made of the same cell type. So that means, though, the parasite has an ability to travel up through the digestive tract, so they try to run. But when you take an herb, it should clean out. The, one of the kickers is this, though, like how can you check every organ? The problem is, again, is blood flow And connection of blood flow from one organ to the next. And what you can find is that parasites are getting a bit smarter. Like, they'll jump into the bloodstream, and they'll try to go into another unknown environment and try to take, you know, rest in one area. But you will see, though, like, in certain tissues like the heart, the area... If you look at the heart, the heart has certain layers, and certain layers of the heart have some tissues that are basically the same as some parts of the digestive tract. So I'm saying they will find another organ to go into that area. So how do you find it? That's the key. If you had a digestive issue, like if she had that, and she started to experience, like, telltale signs of like, "Oh, I get a little skipping heartbeat. My chest feels a little tight," or if she has low-level anemia, then I would say, "Well, it's in your spleen," okay? So how would I test for it? I mean, I just use an archaic old acupuncture machine, and the reason being is because if you can't find it on a parasite test because most... A lot of parasite tests are great. Some of them don't even use microscope to actually look in your poop, and I get that. But if you can't find it, my suggestion is find somebody like I use this machine, and you'll find if the organ is weak or tired, and if it consistently stays weak, and they had a parasite issue, I go after that, and I use frequency testing because... I'm going down the rabbit hole. You'll find the organ, and you go, "Well, I'm gonna treat that." And you're like, "Well, how do I know a parasite's there?" Well, then I test for biofilms because that's the bad thing about biofilms. You can clean that digestive tract out, but let's say you had strep. I know there's a lot. You had staph. If they put their biofilm somewhere else, those parasites will go wherever it's at and hide in them. So if you clean biofilms out, this is my opinion, and really clean them out really well, you'll uncover a lot of parasites, and that's the key. So how do you know? It is tough because I use bioenergetic frequencies. Like, that's the problem is that they like to dig into the walls. They like to get into your tissues, and you won't find them on a blood test sometimes. You won't find them until you ruffle their feathers, and they finally jump in. I've... I can't tell you how many times patients didn't have it, and I'm like, "No, you've got pseudomonas, or you got Blastocystis right there, I guarantee," in their knee. And they're like, "How?" I'm like, "I don't know how it got there, but it traveled there."

[1:30:35]

[Luke] Oh, wow.

[Dr. Motley] Clean them out with like, you know, find some herbals. They go back, get a test, and it shows up. and I know it's a long-winded thing to say, Yeah... you, to me, though, it's like it would try to behoove people to try to find somebody to do some kind of frequency testing to try to find out if it's in the tissue. That's the best way. Now there's some is it Firefly? But some of these new infrared testers, now they can scan and put it something on the body, and the light that beams back into the machine will tell the frequency of what's in there.

[Luke] Oh,

[Dr. Motley] Interesting. Yeah, that's a lot to say, but it is tough. Like, you have to try to find a doctor who's a bit parasitic literate, like your doctor here. And so don't give up, but it is very tough, and I'm saying... 'Cause it's unorthodox how I test sometimes, so yeah.

[Luke] After nearly three decades in the health world, I've learned a few things, and one of the most important is this: the best supplement routine isn't the one you copy from someone else. It's the one that actually fits your unique body, and that's one of the many reasons I love Activation Products from Ian Clark. This dude is an OG in the wellness space. He was a biohacker before there was a name for it. Ian teaches how to support your body through his 15 master keys of health. It's a framework built around fundamentals like hydration, minerals, healthy oils, detox, and cellular nutrition. And what's cool is that Activation Products even has a one-minute quiz that gives you a personalized protocol based on those keys. My quiz recommended black cumin oil, or as many people call it, black seed oil, which I've already been using for years. So that was a clue that this quiz was on point. The black cumin oil is great for immune and gut health, respiratory wellness, and liver function. And another thing that popped up on the test was Restore for hydration and mineral balance, which is huge because I'm in the sauna so often. And then there's Ease Magnesium, a fast-acting magnesium spray that absorbs through your skin to support relaxation and deep sleep. I have bottles of this stuff all over the house, including in the sauna, where I use it most often. It's a great way to get magnesium into your body. Because the smartest supplement routine is the one that's built personally for you, so take the quiz yourself and see what you discover. To take the quiz and explore some of this stuff for yourself, go to activationproducts.com/luke and use the code Luke for 15% off your order. Stop guessing and build a routine that's actually made for you. That's activationproducts.com/luke, and the code is Luke. In your in your clinic there, do you work only with people in person or do you do telehealth stuff too?

[Dr. Motley] I do telehealth too. I I use telehealth. I use... I still hands-on. Like, I mean, hands-on, dry install. How

[Luke] Many how many people you have working in your clinic?

[Dr. Motley] I just do... It's just me and my assistant now 'cause I Oh I've had five up to six people at one time and I just... It was okay but they wanna... You know, the other docs wanna go do their thing and I just go your way

[1:33:36]

[Luke] Now. Do you ever call your staff the Motley crew?

[Dr. Motley] No, I should. I should.

[Luke] The You should get them little name tags. I

[Dr. Motley] Should have a Motley crew.

[Luke] Motley crew member Jennifer.

[Dr. Motley] That's what... I should actually. No, but yeah. It-

[Luke] That's a great name by the way, Motley. That's a, that's a... When I Motley... your name I was like, "That's cool man. Motley crew."

[Dr. Motley] Oh,

[Luke] Man. I love it... so yeah, 'cause that... I asked that 'cause I'm thinking oh man, if you're doing all this like, you know, energetic using technology to discover some of this stuff it seems like, you know, some of that obviously you wouldn't be able to do if you're working remotely with people.

[Dr. Motley] You can use a radionics machine. I do have a radionics machine. Oh really? Yeah. I use old school radionics and the reason I got into it, so basically guys Luke knows about this stuff. It's just like No,

[Luke] Explain it. It's really interesting.

[Dr. Motley] It's really interes- so if you... Back in, not say olden days, but even oil companies, you know, remember dowsing? They used dowsing. Yeah. Dowsing rods. Yeah. They find water. Well, like even the oil fields what they would do is they used dowsing rods but they found that they used these certain I don't wanna say techniques, technology where they could take like dirt samples or take water samples and stick them into a machine that had a copper cup and copper conducts electricity very well And with their, the way they have the machine set up, they can measure the frequency of the water that's inside the cup. Okay? So in essence, what'll happen is if you had a sample of water, like let's say it was over there, and you gave me a little piece of that water, they still resonate with each other 'cause of their same sample. So you could in theory, you take the water sample that's a piece of that, and you can measure this, and it would tell you what's going on over there, 'cause they still resonate with each other. Mm. And if you... And this is the kicker. Some machines now, what you can do is you can twist the knobs, and it has an amp meter, but basically what it's saying is that you can not only measure the frequency, but you can actually, with the machine, input frequency into the water. So you're gonna affect this water sample, and it'll resonate with that water sample.

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] So you can change the resonance, and it worked on my dad. Wow. And it's very unorthodox. FDA does not approve it, so I'm not saying that, guys. Yeah. But my dad, he was a big drill sergeant guy, and he started having lightheadedness, and he would get heart flutters, get nitro- nitroglycerin, and he didn't know what was going on, and it would upset me. My dad's a big, strong guy. He would be on the side of the road, and he would call me on these old school cell phones, and he'd be like, "You gotta come pick me up." And I was like, "What is going on?" Well, one of my dad's friends saw this guy who came to his church, and he had this machine, and he said, "Oh, you can work with the radio waves that come off a person." I was like, "Okay." So he found through this machine that he had parasites in his liver, and he took my dad's spit sample and stuck it in there, and my dad goes, "I taste a metals in my mouth." And he started working on my dad, and my dad would be at home, and my dad stopped having all this lightheadedness.

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] Cleared it out and started pooping again. And it's just Wow... and I go a little far-fetched, but guys, think about it. If you had a radio tower, like one here, and it's shooting waves, what it have is it has a big carrier wave, a carrying wave, and it's carrying other frequencies along with it. And so you can push frequencies, and the only thing you need is another antenna that's tuned to that frequency to pull it in to get your radio station. That's the same thing. If you can tune in to a person, you can shoot energy back and forth, and that's like when people say do distance stuff, I do scans with that. Like, I'll say, "Okay, this is what I got." Then from what I scan, I'll go, "I think you got this parasite." Now, there are some people who are very intuitive. I've done distance work where I'm like, I just try to test frequencies just by intuition. Yes, but I try to keep it a little technical on my end, because it can drain the practitioner when they do that, 'cause I know there's healers- Yeah... out there that literally, like, go, "Hey, look, you got this," and they're right on spot. I get it. I use a little machine, and it works pretty good. So That's cool. That's why I do virtuals that way, and it's like you'll see me on the virtual, and I'm, like, looking all around like, "Okay-... you got this." And I'm loading these... You can choose test vials and put them in the field of the person, 'cause you can put their hair sample or nail, whatever, and it'll resonate with their DNA. And this is crazy. If the, whatever I put in there, a parasite frequency in there, it will heighten the it'll amplify the signal in that person right wherever they're at.

[1:37:46]

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And that energy will come through another little wire into this plate, and it'll make it static, and you'll feel it stick 'cause you amplified the signal in that person.

[Luke] That's so wild.

[Dr. Motley] That's why, but that's why they say speaking life on somebody. Like you just said, like I speak, it's like all I'm trying to do is amplify the signature in that other person with my radio waves. And that's how, like, I know it's a long-winded thing, but That's cool... I say a lot 'cause I don't wanna talk too much, but-

[Luke] No, dude, I love

[Dr. Motley] It. This is fascinating... radio waves frequency. Like, they would, um... I knew a guy that knew another guy in Georgia, and he would want his fields to grow. And so you got, you may know about copper and such, but he would take the, a radionics machine, and he would plug copper around his garden. And so he'd take a piece of the copper that he used and stick it in the machine, and he would just run current through that, radio frequency through it. And it was, like for vitality and for cell growth, and those plants would grow to, like, eight feet, like tomato plants, just huge. And his whole garden would just... He even inputted, I don't know if I should say this, Cam, but he even saw, he had oak trees, and he would input, like, the frequency of, like I think it was walnuts, and those oak trees started to grow walnuts.

[Luke] What? I

[Dr. Motley] Didn't say that. I know, they, I don't wanna have to... Like, I'm just saying. But, like, my friend, who is a very stoic kind of doctor, he was like, "Craziest thing I've ever seen in my life." And I was like, "I wanna go there," but I never went to that farm.

[Luke] That, is that a similar mechanism of action as electroculture?

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] Where people kind of tap into the ethers

[Dr. Motley] Yes...

[Luke] Give energy to their gardens and whatnot.

[Dr. Motley] Exactly. It's just like if you can know the shape and the the formations of the copper or even the crystals you use to get that, it's just this one is like you're actually just taking a piece of the original material.

[Luke] Sure.

[Dr. Motley] Sure. And putting it. Wow. And I think that they... Honestly, that kind of technology's sort of like with Rife machines. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. And I'm not going against any associations, but, you know, AMA said that they stopped those things because frequencies do... I mean, I mean, even hospitals in Canada, and there's some around the world, that use UV light to kill bacteria in a room. I'm like, "They use UV light. Why don't we use it in our room?" You know? Yeah. Staph infection's going crazy, so.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] That's how I mean, operate. At the office, I'm usually hands-on. And I'm always, I will say this without tangent too much of the show, but one of the things is that I want people to remember this. Like, if you have a chronic bladder, prostate issue, one of the things you'll need to check too is that people often forget the old injuries they had. And I'm not just saying it is emotional trauma. They'll forget that, and you have to work with their nervous system to try to bring it up to the to the surface. Because I always compare it to if you had a trauma and you could process 50% of it, okay? I understand this. I have 50%. If you're too tired and too busy in life, you'll take the extra 50 and just throw it in your cloud. You just throw it up into the cloud. It's there, but the file's still full. And so you can do some things to the organs to where it allows the mind to transfer some of that information down to the brain so you can process. So I get that. But one of the things, though, is I tell people, "Never forget your old injuries." And this is a kicker. If you twisted your ankle, and that ankle, okay, guys, has your liver meridians, your bladder meridian, your kidney meridians running through it, I cannot tell you how many times I find people that have had severely sprained ankles or a torn knee, and it just disrupted the chi that went up to the organ. And the brain is paying attention to that injury so much, it's diverting all that neurological energy to it. It won't free up space for your bladder. And literally, you have to clear out an old injury, an old physical injury, to get energy back to that area, 'cause the blood flow Yeah... contorted. And I-

[1:41:25]

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] Like, oh, I did that when I was four years old. I did it. My dad one time, I said, "Dad, you have a bad sprained ankle in your prostate." He goes, he goes, this is what he said, "16 years old, I was running with my friend, going to the YMCA. I twisted my ankle so bad it ballooned up." And I did my muscle test, and I was like, "Uh, was it one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16?" He goes, "16 years old

[Luke] Wow

[Dr. Motley] I know it's a lot, guys, but this is like-

[Luke] That's dope. No, I love this. I mean, to me, this is the future of medicine. We have to look at things from every angle, including the energetics, and there is such thing as quantum physics, right? It's It is quant-... people discount this as, like, woo-woo. I go, "Eh, sometimes it's woo-true." I mean, like, there's-

[Dr. Motley] Woo-true.

[Luke] I love this... I think when you, when you get into the realm of the energetics and quantum energy and stuff, it's problematic because The same thing with like EMF, right? You, with EMF is a great example. You can deal with it at the level of physics, right? Where you can test. Mm-hmm. Okay, we have a signal, we've shielded or blocked that signal, now the signal's gone. Mm-hmm. Right? It's quantifiable. It's provable. But there's also a lot of technologies in the EMF space that harmonize the energies and-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah...

[Luke] Fortify your body to be more resilient, and I use a lot of them, Quantum Upgrade, Leela Quantum, BlueShield. I mean, I have shit all over the house that's like energetic It

[Dr. Motley] Feels very calm to me.

[Luke] Very calm. It's a good vibe in here, yeah. The problem that I see with this is that because there are some things that exist within the realm of energetics and the quantum field, it's really easy for charlatans to fake that and make claims around that just to make money and exploit people, right?

[Dr. Motley] Yes.

[Luke] Yeah. So that's the difficult thing about some of this is like yes, it's woo true, but it's also easy for people who lack integrity and morals to capitalize on that and basically fake the science and make claims around it because it's not provable either way. You can't prove it's not true, and you can't prove it is true. That's

[Dr. Motley] The truth, man.

[Luke] And that's the unfortunate thing about this type of, you know, things happening at a spooky distance. Like, someone who's very, mm, like left-brained analytical could hear what you just described and be like, "Ah, that's bullshit." Yeah, totally. You can't prove it.

[Dr. Motley] Yep.

[Luke] Show me the science. Show me the studies. It's like, well, you know.

[Dr. Motley] It's always like when you have to like work against, and I've, all these years it's, uh... And that's why when I describe like a radio generator, I don't... I just find hands on most of the time. I'm just like, I just put the grid in, you know? Like, to me it's it's always been a career of people coming in and like looking at even an acupuncture, and they're like, "I don't know." And then you clear the golfers up because they can't... They have allergies, and they get better. And they're like, "I'll come in every two years because you helped me with my allergies." Right. It's like, well, you, okay. All right, you know?

[Luke] Yeah. Well, seeing is believing, you know?

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. Well-

[Luke] For those listening and watching, the show notes for today's episode will be found at lukestory.com/drmotley, D-R Motley. Tell me about and we're gonna keep going. I'm just, sometimes I forget to mention that for people. Tell me about your membership program at drmotley.com/store, which we'll put in the show notes. What's that

[1:44:41]

[Dr. Motley] About? Oh, the membership is just, I've made it to where it's just a weekly Q&A. I do put... I have a lot of videos up there. I have some outlines and things of that sort to like tell people like if you've had certain type of, you know, condition, how you can help your body. So it's just a lot of information there, and I... One of the keys though is I meet with them every week, and people like, every single week I do a live with them on Cool Tuesday nights. And so I have people in membership come in. They just have a list of questions, and we... It's like a little family, you know? And so I don't really tout it a lot, but it's just a Q&A because I, even on social media, I try to answer as many questions, but in the office I don't have a lot of time, so that's my membership. I do have a lot of info. Cool. I'm actually gonna revamp a little bit more and put more video, but I save all my Zooms so people can go back and watch them, but it's like a weekly meeting with me too. Epic. So yeah, you know.

[Luke] So people will get to do what I'm doing here and

[Dr. Motley] Just talk with me...

[Luke] Pick your brain about

[Dr. Motley] All this stuff. That's exactly right, and you get, you get some of the best conversations. And I learn a ton from the membership. That's what I Yeah... when people bring me stuff, yeah.

[Luke] Going back to the old physical injuries, you brought to mind something that I've intuited but I'm not sure. But when I was probably probably about 10, I got bit on the thigh by a German shepherd.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] Put a big hole in my thigh. Yeah. I remember that because... Well, I remember getting bit, but when I went to the doctor, I remember the doctor stuck a Q-tip in the hole Oh, no... twisted it around with some alcohol or whatever, and that was actually worse than the dog bite. But I've always had issues with, like, my right lower back and my right hip. Like, my right side is just jacked up, and I've always had this intuitive feeling that something in the chi flow got interrupted by that hole that is now scar tissue. I mean, you can see it on my leg. It's a big-ass hole, like the size of, you What?... your pinky nail. Yeah. There's a big scar there, and I'm like, "Hmm, I bet there's some energetic blockage there that is, like, causing some of that stagnation."

[Dr. Motley] I would, I would definitely, 'cause that's the one first thing you learn in, like, one-on-one acupuncture, is you always look for the scars 'cause they make the chi divert. So the chi... 'Cause fascia carries your energy, and when you have a scar, it hardens it, and so it has to either go, try to go through it or try to reroute around it. But the, like, if you got bit right there on the inside of the leg is usually your spleen and liver and kidney. But when you said my lower back, the kidney meridian feeds your hip flexors, so if you disrupt your kidney meridian right here, your hip flexors will turn off, then your glute goes out and your IT band, and so it starts Wow Just cascade. And that's, like, literally from that one... And I mean, yeah, crazy stories like that, yeah.

[Luke] Interesting. Yeah. I've tried just intuiting that. I've tried to do things like blast the, my leg with PEMF and shit to try to, like-

[Dr. Motley] No, it's

[Luke] Great... get the, get the energy moving again, but I, you know, it's not something I've ever been able to really prove. It's just kind of an intuitive feeling like, "Hmm, everything's connected. Everything's energy. Maybe there's something there." But that makes a lot of sense.

[Dr. Motley] I mean, next time I'm in I'll bring my stuff and I'll check it. I will do it for you. Like, even if I'm in I appreciate it... now you I'll come and check it for you. I'll, I really will.

[Luke] Cool. Oh, it'd be fun to get out to Nashville. I haven't been there in, God, 20 years or something.

[1:47:45]

[Dr. Motley] Just come on up. I'm serious. you and your wife come on up, give you a day. Cool... spend the whole day working on you guys. I'd love it. No charge. Come on, I'll do it, man.

[Luke] Well, Tennessee used to be really far 'cause I lived in LA for so long, and now I forget I'm in the middle of the country And I was like, "Wow, that's kinda cool." I mean, the coasts are far, but everything in between is relatively close.

[Dr. Motley] One hour and 40 minutes, like, there. And then it's, like, great shows and great food, so you guys can go play and I can treat you guys a few times

[Luke] I can go see-... see what I can find... I can go see some country music.

[Dr. Motley] That's right.

[Luke] Tell me why you advise being upright when you take an ice bath

[Dr. Motley] Normally, like even with a sauna- And how

[Luke] Upright?

[Dr. Motley] I would say even if you had... You could sit. I think that it's okay to sit, but whenever you have, if you're lying down in an ice bath, if you're leaning down, one of the things that you have to be wary of is that with heart strength, especially Chinese medicine, is that the position and posture has everything to do because of your neurological state. But all that to say is you don't want your heart to work harder in the essence of, like, if you're laying down. Yes, there may be more even flow, but if you're sitting or you're standing, you still are contracting certain musculature in your legs, okay? So your calves are your second heart. So one of the most important things, I think, is when you put pressure down on your legs, you're contracting muscles, even in the cold, and you're gonna assist blood flow, so your heart doesn't go into, like, a fight or flight state.

[Luke] Ah.

[Dr. Motley] So some people will lay down and they're just like, And they're doing, "

[Luke] Ah,

[Dr. Motley] Ah." You know? And I'm like, "Just contract your calves. Start to breathe through your stomach." And what you're doing is, remember, you have arteries that are going down the inside of your legs and out, but you wanna have, like, a little bit of tension in your calves to sort of keep pushing that blood flow up to your heart. Your heart will feel safe. That's the key with the-

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] That's one aspect of this thing.

[Luke] That's cool. Yeah. I've never heard that. I thought about that just 'cause today when I did my ice bath, I was kind of in a hurry, and so I laid back so I could get my neck, like, up to my ears, 'cause I like, I like freezing my Yeah For some reason. Feels good. But then I have to kind of lay

[Dr. Motley] Down?

[Luke] Yeah... in order to do it, you know?

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. It's-

[Luke] I heard you mention that. I was like, "Oh, that's interesting. I never heard that." And I've interviewed tons of people that are ice bath experts, and no one's ever really talked about your position

[Dr. Motley] And one thing, though, too, if, like, your neck really feels hot, and I'm going a little deep on that. But if your neck hurts or it needs the ice, it means that usually there's inflammation, and I would honestly say that, I would say you need to get, like, your lymph nodes checked, which there could be, like, old mono or staph or strep something up in there. That's why it feels so good. But sitting up, though, too, is... Again, everybody's different, but I would say that your body, everybody can have an injury in certain positions, literally. Like, you can have a an injury show up if you're laying left side down or right side down, but sitting is that contraction force that really keeps, you know, even your lower dantian, it can be open while you're laying down. I get that. But if you can support the kidney chi while you're sitting, it's really important. So keep, you know, keep contracting your calves in the water.

[Luke] Epic. let's talk about The neurological impact of mold exposure, Lyme, you know, these infections, I think, again, going back to the kind of siloed view of the body many of us miss the fact that so much of this is related to our emotional health and mood and so on. Your neurochemistry is affected by these infections. Yes. So what do you have to say about that relationship?

[1:51:11]

[Dr. Motley] I would say, like, when somebody, like, breathes mold in I would say most people even, like-- You know, there's a few biohackers out there that say go after mold before you go after Lyme. But to get to the general gist of it, when you have mold infection, I always compare it to this, like if you have mold in your brain neurologically or in your gut. So remember, your brain's your second gut. Let's say you've got mold in your body from when living in a moldy house or you lived out in the farm and then where the mold count was high. They create up to about 10 different biofilms, okay? So we have that there. But mold, when it, when it... either if it's dying off or overstimulated neurologically, it will produce certain types of toxicities like gliotoxins, ochratoxins fumosins, all these weird words. But the-- I always compare it to, like, a brick wall. So if you get mold in your gut or even in your lung, it works on the mucus layer like acid rain on your brick wall. So it tears away, and it starts to loosen up the concrete between the bricks. And so what will happen is then the candida will be like the weeds that go right through the bricks And then you, neurologically what happens, you get, everybody says zonulin, but zonulin's a gatekeeper. But what'll happen is if it starts to get loose in the gate, then if you normally got strep or staph when you're a kid, which most everybody has, or C. diff, those actually have the keys to make the zonulin gates open up. So then you have an open doorway to your bloodstream, and if you have leaky brain or leaky gut, you could get mold up in your head, and it can, like, literally jump into your bloodstream and get into your brain. And the toxicities that they produce is what eats away at your nerves. So they even have reports, what it does with your nerves, it actually, it'll damage the dendritic layers. It actually makes them change. Some of those infections will keep dopamine built up in the nerve, and then it ruins the receptors of the dopamine on the receiving nerve. So you can't really release it, and then you can't really capture it. So what happens to this nerve? It gets built up with dopamine, and then people start getting tics and OCD and ADD, and so just from mold. And if you get Lyme goes in there, and on your nerves you got fat around the nerve, and they just burrow in 'cause they consume the fats, they digest the fats, they like the sugars in your brain 'cause it feeds off sugar, and they will go to town on proteins and fats, which is primarily in the brain. Then they poop, and so they will poop out ammonia. And then ammonia's very neurotoxic, and so Oh... it's just like when you smell ammonia, when old days they do it, they wake up. Same things happen to your nerve. Then your nerves get fried, and then your nerves get really scared, and then all these little inflammatory cells come in to help clean it up. And then the little infections burrow deeper, or they jump out, and they go somewhere else. So what I'm saying is, like, not to sound scary. I don't want anybody to take that from this, but when you get bit by a tick Or anything like that, or you breathe in mold, the problem that's, that comes in is that the way it can sit stealthy, stealthily in the body, and then it just sort of replicates over time. So neurologically, if you see conditions, and I'm not saying it causes this, if you saw anything like MS, Parkinson's, ALS, I'm just saying even the CDC says this, that if you have those kind of conditions and you don't get proven you have those, you need to look into a neurological base. And they even mention Lyme disease. So whenever I see anybody that has numbness, tingling the arms are not moving well, incoordination, shaking, or spots in your vision, floaters, migraines that are random, or flashes of light in your eyes, or even ear ringing, tinnitus, and you can't get an answer, you need to go look for Lyme, and then go look for mold. And if you had both, go after mold first. I know it's a lot.

[1:54:52]

[Luke] You know, you just got my attention because I've had like, crippling tinnitus for three years, and I've not been able to fix it, and I've tried everything. People text me, you know, DM me shit all the time, "Hey, have you tried this?" I'm like, "Yeah." I mean, I'm happy they're trying to help, but I'm almost... It's, like, annoying because you're like, "I know. I've tried that. I've tried that." It's, like, frustrating.

[Dr. Motley] You know, I wouldn't tell you

[Luke] Anything I didn't know. 'Cause I've talked about it on the podcast, you know, 'cause every once in a while someone will have a key, right? And I go, ooh, like you just gave me a key.

[Dr. Motley] And also, too, with tinnitus, okay, tinnitus, seriously, man, I'll send you a link for a good test that let's us just do this. Like, it's a $200 test. like MicrogenDX has one that's called Eurokey. But I'm saying this, we need to check and see if your kidneys, because the kidneys always... The openings that are controlled by the kidneys, the opening, the in Chinese med, is the ears 'cause they're shaped like the kidneys. The inner tubes inside your ears, incus, you know, all those little tubes- Yeah... incus, hamme-step hammer, stapes, they're all made of the same material as the tubes in your kidneys. Oh, wow. So they're basically two kidneys, two ears. They're mirrors of each other That's how Chinese medicine works. Like, your liver looks like a big eye the way it's shaped. Your tear gland right here is shaped like a liver, and the little ducts inside of it are shaped like your gallbladder.

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] So if you have vision problems, look for your liver and your gallbladder. So, like, when you have tinnitus- Yeah... I guarantee you've got, like, kidney stuff, like, as in infection.

[Luke] Interesting.

[Dr. Motley] At least we can find out, you know?

[Luke] That's a, that's a good code. Yeah. It's funny, I'm hearing more and more people. It's not something I used to hear about a lot. I it's kind of like that thing, you know, if you if you think about a red Volkswagen Beetle, then you see them everywhere- Yep Kind of thing. So I don't know if it's 'cause, like, tinnitus has become such an integral part of my life, unfortunately, that now I just hear everyone has it.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] But aside from that, it does seem like it's a problem more and more people are having. I've chalked it up to just there's so much EMF around- Yes That probably has something to do with it. But it's like more and more people have it, and it's probably just the toxic soup we live in of, you know, you got chemtrails, Uh-huh... blue light, glyphosate, all this stuff. It's, you know, who knows what the, like, root cause is.

[Dr. Motley] Who

[Luke] Root cause. But, It is... but I am noticing a lot more people reporting the ear ringing.

[Dr. Motley] I have, too, Have

[Luke] You seen that

[Dr. Motley] In your practice? I have. And I am with you, and I know it's a touchy subject when we talk about, like, EMFs and, you know, chemtrails, but I always wonder, too, because I know you've I've heard you talk about it, is like with mold, of course mold gets aggravated by EMF, and so does many species. Like strep gets really aggravated, and so does Lyme. So they could be producing toxins that are in the head and creating that and irritating your ears and your nerves in the ears. But it, I think EMF has to have a little bit more to do with it than I know about. You know what I mean? Because thereYeah It's happened more and more in the last three years, four years. I've had more and more cases of people, like, getting half-deaf or in the ear. But one of the things they do say with, like, Lyme, you can blame an infection and say, "Oh, it's just Lyme." I'm like, "No, I mean, it could be, like, biofilms up there. It could be, like you said, EMFs." I mean, the high amount of radiation we're in could be a totally thing. And I would say the beginning step would try to be the, get the organ cleaned out that's associated with it and Yeah... what's left over, you know?

[1:58:13]

[Luke] Yeah. Process of elimination.

[Dr. Motley] That's exact- That's how it is in my office. Like, people say, "Why do you take so long?" And I'm like, "I'm always behind. I'm always like 10, 15 minutes behind," because I literally go there and I'm like, "That doesn't make sense." And then I have to search something else, and I'm like, "Well, that showed up." And so it's elimination. I don't ever act like I know the answer. I'm like, uh... People know I'm like, I just investigate. And the only thing I'm good at, I'm good at cleaning stuff. I'm not saying I'm gonna solve everything. I'm just good at cleaning stuff. Like, if you have a parasite, like, I'll help you clean it. You know, that's my philosophy.

[Luke] Epic. If your meditation practice feels like work instead of peace, listen up. A lot of us sit with the best of intentions. We're trying to quiet the mind, experience inner stillness, maybe even connect with something deeper within. But the fact is that if your body can't let go of background stress, it makes all of that more difficult, sometimes even impossible. And that's why I use the Apollo Neuro. It's a wearable that sends gentle rhythmic pulses through your body, and that signal communicates safety through your sense of touch. And when your nervous system feels safe, everything changes. Your breath slows down, you settle in faster, and you can actually drop into a meditative state without all the struggle. I've noticed when I use the Apollo, I just go deeper and faster, like my body finally decided to cooperate with my mind. And it doesn't stop there. Apollo comes with an app called Smart Vibes AI that learns your patterns and automatically adjusts the support you need when you need it. Here's where you wanna go to get your nervous system dialed in. It's called apolloneuro.com/luke. And if you use the code Luke, you get $99 off the Apollo wearable and Smart Vibes AI bundle. Apollo takes the friction out of my meditation practice, but the real win is how it helps my system stay calm, present, and way less reactive throughout the day. So you definitely wanna check out apolloneuro.com/luke, and that code is Luke to save $99 You've mentioned biofilms a number of time, and this is a word I think many of us are becoming familiar with, but I, myself included, I don't really understand what biofilms are and how you identify them. Ooh, and there's another piggyback on that, going back to parasites So two part question. One, break down biofilms for us, and when it comes to treating parasites a lot of people that I respect that are kind of on the fringes of alternative medicine are really into turpentine-

[Dr. Motley] Yeah...

[Luke] As a treatment. Like, you take a sugar cube, and then you drink some turpentine or something. Yep. It's one of the weird things I've not done, which is incredible, 'cause I feel like I've done every weird thing I've ever heard of. so yeah, break down biofilms, and then do you have any experience with the turpentine thing?

[Dr. Motley] I Okay, so basically a biofilm is, like, where any type of infection, it could... There's many species I've talked about before, but a lot of them are made out of calcium alginate, and they put minerals that you already have in your body. Like, they take your calcium and some of your magnesium. They'll take some of your heavy metals, your normal minerals, and they release their own types of protein goo, I hate to use that word, and even sugars, and these infections release it themselves, but they also accumulate some of the mineral sources of your body, and they make it into a hard plaster. So if you look at a... It's just like plaster on the wall. So if you look at them, like calcium alginate- Oh, really? So think about it this way. coral reefs.

[2:01:44]

[Luke] Uh-huh.

[Dr. Motley] If you took a coral reef, they're made out of the same stuff. They just take a lot of minerals and calcium, and they harden it. It's the same structure. And so they take your minerals. That's why people will come in. They'll say, "Well, when I get my blood test back, my nutrient test, I'll have low iron, low selenium. I'll have sometimes low magnesium," go through the list. And you'll find out that if you study it, that certain infections metabolize and eat those things, because they use it to create their films. So you'll have consistently low iron or ferritin. It's because you could have E. coli consuming your iron. And so they take that. They make their goo, and they build it, build it, build it, and then they make holes like a coral reef, and they go right into it. So that's what a biofilm is.

[Luke] Okay.

[Dr. Motley] And then if you- '

[Luke] Cause I was picturing biofilms as being like a loogie, you know? It is a loogie. Or like if you've, if you go to, you know, you go in a pond and frogs lay eggs, and they have, like, a little gelatinous kind of bubble where all the little eggs are hidden. Yeah. some spiders do that, too. I just saw that in Costa Rica, actually. So I've always pictured it as, like, a gelatinous mucoid kind of thing, but the way you're describing it is that it can actually harden-

[Dr. Motley] It can harden

[Luke] Where it's, like, calcified.

[Dr. Motley] It's basically, yes. You can have both. Okay. 'Cause if you poop and you see, like, mucusy stuff in your poop or a lot of Mm-hmm... like, sometimes people will take a detox, that's biofilm breaking down. But if you look at some of them underneath a microscope, I'm serious. You know when you have a bad callus on your foot, and it's kinda got that rough edges, and it looks... Some of those biofilms look like tissue that's kinda, like, overgrown, like a little callus, and you'll see bacteria, and they've already weaseled their way in. So it looks like an old callus, like, when it hardens.

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And I always compare, like, if you went and got a CT scan and Your sinuses are completely hardened, and somebody says, "I blow my nose, but it doesn't move," and then they go to the ENT, and they dig it out, and it's hard pieces of snot? Same thing. It's hard pieces, and you can break them down to where they liquefy a bit and get gelatinous, but some of those pieces I can tell you, like I've had people that have come in, and I'm not saying I've done this. I had one that had kidney biofilms, and when they urinate, I don't know how, it was a guy, and he was peeing out these hard pieces, and he said it was, like, in the shapes of, like the way it looked like kidneys. He goes, "I'm not kidding, man." He goes, "My urologist was, like, freaked out." I would say, I'm not saying proven that he had it in there- Mm... but that's a biofilm, and so they're stealing your minerals. They're making their own stuff, making a plaster, drywall, and then all their friends come and party. That's what happens. They all go in the same area. when we talk about turpentine, I've taken turpentine. they have, like, you know, not medical grade. I don't know what you'd call it. Like, it's like a food-grade turpentine. it's worked. I think when you take a sugar cube, you're pulling the parasites out 'cause they eat it, and that kills them off. It's worked. I had a friend who went to China. He went to these areas out in the outskirts. He got super bad problem. One of our docs, he does muscle tests. They take turpentine. He did it, and he released, like, so many worms, like, out of that and little specks and such. It... Can it work? I think it can work. I think this is the other key, though. It works when you have present, like, parasites that are floating around, and you kill them off. but parasites are really smart, and so I'm saying if you have a concentrated turpentine, you have to pulse it. You'd have to take some of it for a high concentration time, wait a while, and then do it again because they're smart. They'll run, and they know when you take it 'cause when you put it in your mouth, I'm serious. Neurological signals from your smell and from your taste send a ripple effect through your body 'cause that's how your stomach knows. They know.

[2:05:12]

[Luke] Oh,

[Dr. Motley] Wow. They smell it, and they go, "Oh, Luke just-" So it's like an alarm type of stuff. Oh, they look... And the quorum of biofilm is this, like a coral reef. You remember, like, in the Australian coral reefs, they'll say if one coral reef gets injured, they'll take electrical signals from the coral reef that's miles away, and it has the same signal because this one's getting injured? Quorum technology. You injure it here, sends a ripple effect. The other biofilms are picking up, and they go, "Something's coming down. Hide."

[Luke] Quorum sensing.

[Dr. Motley] Quorum sensing.

[Luke] That is wild. It's crazy. More spooky, distant stuff.

[Dr. Motley] And I'm telling turpentine works. I... The lady that had heartworm, she told me, she said when we were a kid, she said the doctor would come three times a year, and they would do so many things with turpentine. She said we'd go to the outhouse, and we would just poop out, and there would be, like, worms out there. Another guy I knew, an old history teacher told me he lived on a farm, and they would give him kerosene

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And he said, I said, "Did it kill you?" And he goes, "No, you take a spoonful or two." Yeah. And I was like, "Did it work?" He goes, "Yeah." He goes, "Yeah."

[Luke] Well, I think the turpentine, I mean, most people don't even know what it is, but it's like paint thinner, I think is what we think of turpentine. But really it's just like distilled sap or something, right? It's

[Dr. Motley] Distilled pine sap. Okay. And so what it... And what people will do is in the turpentine, it'll kill Lyme. Lyme hates pine. It does not like it. Ah. It does. That's why people who live in pine trees, a lot of times they'll get around there and they'll go, "Man, I'm getting l-..." If you get a little allergic... myself, I didn't like, I don't like the smell of pine 'cause the Lyme doesn't like it.

[Luke] Oh, wow.

[Dr. Motley] And this is what they, some I'm going further, but some neurologists say this. If you if you don't like the smell of something and you start to feel the symptom, they say that now that your body's adapted so much to having an infection, okay?

[Luke] Mm-hmm.

[Dr. Motley] And when your body accommodates that infection and chemically sort of creates a homeostasis and a balance, when you try to pull that thing away, your body goes, "No, don't pull that away. I got used to that friend. He's like, I'm used to that guy." And so naturally you will make habits to avoid things that would kill it, like going around pine trees. And so always pay attention to things like that. I mean, little... People think they're, "That's just me. I don't like pine." I'm like, "That Lyme." Yeah.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] I get real adamant when I hear it. That's why in the office when you tell me like little things, I'm like, "What'd you do?" And you go like, "My foot hurt over here." And people think, "Oh, your foot hurt." I'm like, "Kidney." Like, that's why my Like all day, dude. Like they come in and they'll go Okay, I got a bump on my ring toe. What do you think that is? And then I like, "Do you have hip pain?" "Yeah." "Do you have shoulder pain?" "Yeah." "Do you have TMJ?" "Yeah." Gallbladder. And they'll get a sore on that gallbladder toe. It's just little things that... That's like Chinese medicine 101. It's not something I invented- Yeah... you know? So.

[Luke] It's following clues.

[Dr. Motley] Clues.

[Luke] So you use applied kinesiology or muscle testing in your practice?

[Dr. Motley] I do use that, and I use I use a small device. It's a, it's a little biofeedback device, but with galvanic skin response. Okay, so magnetic skin. So I use devices, and I use a little handheld device. I'll have to show it to you I should have brought it. But basically, if I touched Luke on an area where he had a blocked acupuncture point, he would transfer his static electricity or his electricity to me. And at that instant, he would change the texture of my skin, 'cause I picked up on his static. And the device, I can rub the device, I put it on my side, literally, and it'll... My finger, then, when it gets sticky, it will stick to the plate. So I know I got some electricity from you.

[2:08:39]

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] So if you do that, and I found the point, then you can also check vials and things and supplements and put it in the mouth or have you smell it, and then if the sebum goes away, it made your skin calm down, so you're not agitated anymore in that, in that area. So that's how you can test. So you use AK to fortify it, like the muscle testing.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] So you're coming at it from different angles.

[Luke] That's super interesting. Yeah. there was this guy, he's since passed. I think his name was Bob Marshall. He's got a company called Premier Research Lab.

[Dr. Motley] Premier Research Lab. He's passed?

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] Aw. Yeah, quite a

[Luke] Few years ago. They

[Dr. Motley] Have great stuff, man.

[Luke] Yeah, they're really high The thing about their products that's interesting, if you open, I don't care which one it is, you open the jar and smell it's strong as hell. Like, he had some kind of quantum charging. I don't know what he did to his supplements to make them so powerful. But I used to go see him in Santa Monica. I think he was actually from Texas but he had an office in Santa Monica, and he designed this vest that you would put on, and then he would have little vials of all these different herbs and supplements and stuff, and he would add or subtract them. The vest had all these little pockets on it. Oh, wow. Right? Yeah. Yep. And so he would put, oh, you know, whatever, selenium, I don't know, whatever, put something in there, and then he'd muscle test your arm. Yeah. And then he would deduce what was going on and how to treat it solely based on muscle testing with his little magic vest. And it was really interesting.

[Dr. Motley] It is interesting. The same, like, when you come in, I use a device to do things like that, and then I take EAV. So I have a plate, it's a machine, and you can take all those vials, measure the, like, the heart, and the heart, let's say it's weak at 70, put it on the plate. You will hold the probe. You hold the thing, and so what happens is you'll pick up on the electrical current or the frequency of that vial, and then we'll see if it calms that meridian down. And if you do it shoots it up to 100% good-

[Luke] Uh-huh...

[Dr. Motley] Then I know it helps you. Wow. So, like, you can use it that way. There's many different ways.

[Luke] That's so dope, dude. Yeah. 'Cause it's like, you know, I'm constantly talking about different supplements and products and stuff on the show and interviewing people that make cool things, and I have literally, like-

[Dr. Motley] The

[Luke] Pantry?... I have cabinets and pan... I mean, they're just overflowing with supplements which is great, but at some point it just gets overwhelming. But I know I have probably wasted so much money on supplements over the years, 'cause I'm just, like, shooting in the dark, and I think this is one of the things that is really lacking in, you know, the alternative health space, is the these kind of sophisticated and fringe diagnostic tools to determine if something is actually good for you. Like ashwagandha might be great, so I read something about it. I go, "Oh, I'm gonna get on a bunch of ashwagandha." It might not be great for me, and I have no way of knowing that it's maybe even harmful to me-

[Dr. Motley] Yep...

[Luke] Because of my particular biochemistry or where I am in life at that, at that time.

[Dr. Motley] That's true. It's like that was a hard thing for me 'cause even with muscle testing, you know present time when you're here, if I do a muscle test, say, "Oh, you're strong when you take all these things," the body, remember, is adapting. So it's trying to take all the information everywhere in your body and say, "Well, it makes me generally strong," which I believe, 'cause I use it. But one reason I like to use, like, acupuncture devices is because I'll check the liver all the time because all your blood flow runs through your liver all the every day. Your whole blood volume runs through your liver and through your thyroid. Now, this is my personal opinion, but, like, when you have a pantry full of them, some people bring in a, like, literally like 40 bottles or 60 I've had that many, and they'll cut down to four. And it's a long session, 'cause you have to check. But what happens is I check the liver current, and the liver's like, say it's weak. You put all the ones they're taking and that liver is so overwhelmed it will go into inflammation, right, 'cause they have MTHFR or something of that sort. Yeah,

[2:12:27]

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] But if you get it to where it can only take a few and the liver can methylate them or can break them down, you think, "Well, I'm missing my omegas and I'm missing this." Like, no, that's the only thing your body can take right now. It can't take more. and that's why I use single strand supplements. I love Supreme Nutrition products. They're my friends, but they have great... This single strand because, yeah, I'll have people that have like, "I got about 15 or 20." I'm like, "That's fine." We interchange them at times, but which-

[Luke] Like the probiotic strains?

[Dr. Motley] No, like strains of herbs. Oh, okay. Like they'll have, like, single strains, 'cause there's a lot of multis.

[Luke] Oh, got

[Dr. Motley] It. But a lot of times you put a multi on there, and I love them, I love multi herbs, but the conglomerate of them is actually sometimes can push the liver too much. So if you do them single, what you'll usually find is that people have constitutional herbs. They'll find certain herbs that their body says, "I never wanna get off this." So it really limits the amount you take, like after a while. Yeah. So-

[Luke] I need to do that. Yes. Like I do intuit sometimes that... I don't know. I go through phases. Right now I'm in a phase where I'm not taking a lot of supplements. I have my top 10 that are Mm-hmm... you know, basics, vitamin E, K2, vitamin C, whatever, right? Yeah. Just standard stuff, minerals uh, you know, cod liver oil for the vitamin A, et cetera. Just things that I know the body needs in general, fat-soluble vitamins and so on. But then there's all the kind of like boutique exotic supplements, and I interview someone and I get really impressed and I start taking that. Next thing you know I'm taking 40 freaking supplements a day and I've intuited like how do I know my liver is enjoying this? Like, that's a lot of biochemical information Yes The organs to process at once.

[Dr. Motley] That is the truth. And I see I'm getting hyped up about it. You'll get so much you know, the body says or their blood test says they need this, and then you get a big lab and it says, "Well, you need vitamin K and you need selenium," da. And you go through all the... You test the liver meridian, you put, like, maybe four of them on there, and it's like, "I'm at 100." You put one more and it goes, "I'm out of range."

[Luke] Wow.

[Dr. Motley] And you can't do it. I'm just telling you. And then what happens, their body will heal faster if they can take what they have, which, what I suggest or what the machine suggests, and they'll actually run processes on their own 'cause they gave them just what they needed, just enough energy. And that's why I'm a big proponent of homeopathy. I use a lot of homeopathy in my, like, gut bio and physique and all those different ones. Physico, sorry. And one thing I tell people is that if you can find the right homeopathic, like, if, like, maybe one little set and add a few herbs, you can get so much done, man. You see my... I'm telling you. I've done it all. I've done methylation where I gave somebody 15 supplements and 30. Worked pretty well, but people get tired of taking so many of these. But I would say Good homeopathy and good herbals are a great place to start, and I'm thankful like low-level Lyme disease, or high-level Lyme disease, I'm sorry, with even with a few herbals, it just gives enough energy and enough frequency to the body and it'll start flushing it. And I, firsthand experience. It's... I just, you know, when patients come in, you know, they hear something and it's like, well, if something costs more, it's gonna work more. Right. I'm like, dude, I use basic, like, you know, 15 bucks for a bottle or 20, and then like 12 bucks, and I'm like, and half the time, I'm not bragging or something, like if I think they have to change up, I literally, I'm, it sound like I'm bragging, but I'm just like, "No, just go get it. Just take it." Why? Because infections can get so smart that you may have to change like after four weeks to six weeks, you may have to, 'cause they get smart. But the homeopathy, if you get the right one, they can stay on that one for like six months- Yeah... and they will knock something out.

[2:16:02]

[Luke] Yeah. Thanks for the reminder. I interviewed this woman, Melissa, from Remedy.

[Dr. Motley] Oh,

[Luke] Yeah. they have great... She has a homeopathy school now. I mean, she's really deep into it. Nice. And she sent, she sent us some, and when Allison started taking them, I mean, she had immediate reactions. And I'm like, this little thing, it looks like It doesn't have a taste. Yeah. You know? It's like, it's not very convincing because it doesn't, it doesn't have the gross impact of like having a smell or a taste or a color. It's just like, what? What's this little thing gonna do?

[Dr. Motley] People don't even think it's worth it.

[Luke] Yeah. It's kind of it's deceptive in that way, but I, but I am becoming more and more of a believer. Actually, I have some I'm supposed to be taking, but that is the feedback I got from her. She's like, "Dude, you have all these people, they're spending all this money on supplements, putting a burden on their liver. It's like literally all they need to do is like a solid homeopathy, you know, run like a program and so many of those problems will go away and then you don't even need all those supplements."

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. I agree 100%. You agree with that? I, literally, because like they and I'm not touting them, but Desbio has these little kits where they're like 10 vials, and I'm gonna give myself an example. I had... When I had, you know, experienced Lyme, like I knew I probably had some ehrlichia left over, like ehrlichia is like a, it goes into your white blood cells, and they have kits where they just have really simples, like you take this little kit and you take a homaccord and maybe you wanna add a few things, but I was taking that and I'd wake up, and people say it sounds scary. It's not. I wake up with my tingling in my hands and numbness where I used to have when I had the Lyme infections. Why? 'Cause they hid up here.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] And all it took was a little box and a little thing and a few herbs. And I was like the, one of my friend's urologist, medical doctor, he's big into like doing urinalysis tests, and he uses AI with it, right? My friend had psoriasis like all over his legs, right? And I was like, "Dude," before I was like, "You got yeast, you got some prostate-" PSA started to go up. Went to this guy, gave him a few things. Some probiotics, a couple vitamins, minerals, homeopathy. PSA just, skin started to clear out.

[Luke] Really?

[Dr. Motley] Yeah. Just crazy. ThatIt's like you don't have to... I mean, I'm not saying everybody's gonna spend less, but Yeah... also think that just even their set systems that they have in some of these companies- Yeah... they work, man. They really do.

[Luke] Yeah. That's good to know. That's a good reminder for people. And I, you know, sometimes I feel bad, like, doing what I do here, because so many of the people that come on have great products, but they're super expensive.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] You know? And it's like when people are dealing with some chronic issues, I know that there's a financial burden, right? If you can't work 'cause you have Lyme or mold or whatever, it's like you don't have the money to buy all these expensive supplements.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] And even if you do, if someone's really sick, and I'm sure you experienced this, the overwhelm of just God bless all the functional medicine doctors out there, and I've worked with many that are very talented that have helped me immensely, but it's like it's kind of a version of the Western medicine model where you go in and you describe the symptoms, and then rather than being given a bunch of pharmaceuticals and surgery, you're you go home with $1,200 worth of supplements and then this intricate, very detailed protocol. It... Dude, if you're sick and you have brain fog from mold or lime, you can't even read the piece of paper. And where do you even put all the... Allison's gone through this. I'm like, "You need to take all this stuff," you know? And she's like, "Dude, I can't manage all this." It just, it becomes like a full-time job just to manage, like, all of the supplements. Oh. It's like the expense and the mental burden of just trying to manage the protocol probably causes you so much stress that you're, like, making yourself sicker- Yeah... in some cases. You know what I

[2:19:50]

[Dr. Motley] Mean? Truly. It does. like when people bring in an Excel spreadsheet, you've seen Yeah... with, like, so many, and I'm like... One of my mentors, my main mentor, Dr. Dowdy, he's a great dude. He's like a dad. He said, he goes, "If they have to go..." He goes, "I understand people have to take a lot," he says, "but if..." Sometimes. He says, "But if they have to go over four to six supplements, around that," he goes, "you gotta be careful with the liver." He says, "You got... You overwhelm it." And when they take, like, let's say they take a vitamin three times a day or two Most of the time, I mean, this is my personal experience. Like, I'll give them an herb and I'll say, "You may take one of these capsules two times a day or three," 'cause you have to work with what you got. Like, the body's too tired, and it works on the mentality of people. They give up, and so that's why I changed after I was doing, like, trying to follow, like, methylation. I love it, but I was like, "You know what? I'm just gonna do a homeopathic and I'll do an herb," and it's been doing pretty good for me. Like, people are, like, really healing up. So I would encourage people out there, if you find a good homeopathy practitioner and they give you a few remedies, I know it doesn't feel like you're getting much done. I promise it doesn't. But you gotta think of each little drop as, like, a punch, but it harmonizes with your body, and I'm telling Right Your body just forgets. Hate to say it that way. You just forget what the trauma or the infection is, and you've customized to it. You put the frequency in there, and it wakes you up and goes, "There's strep, and it shouldn't be there anymore." Then you initiate your own immune system, and it goes after it.

[Luke] Right. Right.

[Dr. Motley] That's... It's reminding. It's just memory.

[Luke] Right. It's like a bio-signaling kind of thing-

[Dr. Motley] Yes...

[Luke] Rather than the gross molecule of, like, okay, I have, I have these say these infections, so I want to attack that with these molecules. Meanwhile, your body's sitting back there going, "Hello. We have the goods in here. You just need to give us the signal to-

[Dr. Motley] That's a perfect-...

[Luke] To arm a defense," right?...

[Dr. Motley] Fit. I'm gonna use that. That's, no, perfect.

[Luke] Yeah, I mean, I'm just trying to get my head around it, but the, yeah, the, with homeopathy, interesting thing too that Melissa was telling me is it's very common for people that have had cold sores-

[Dr. Motley] Mm

[Luke] And then they don't have them anymore, and they get on homeopathy, and all of a sudden they have these massive breakouts. And they just have to, you just gotta, like, weather the storm and get through it, but then it gets cleared, and then you never have them for the rest of your life kind of thing. Nope. It

[Dr. Motley] Is the honest truth.

[Luke] It's trippy. It

[Dr. Motley] Is trippy. I had-

[Luke] Yeah...

[Dr. Motley] I, and it, I'm not saying I cure anything, so I'll, let's preface that. But one patient had some HPV kind of different things, and I'm not... But you know, they're saying, "Well, you're gonna live with it." And I don't make a claim. I said, "Well, there's some good herbals and some that help with viral stuff." Did it for, like, six months, and they'll get, like, a little bit more agitated. Their body will start pushing it out, and the herbs start killing off. And they went back six months, and, like, it wasn't any singles in their, in their Pap smear and all that things. And I'm not trying to brag. Oh. I'm just saying that to give people encouragement that you'll get sometimes, like, my hand's going numb. I know people get scared, but I'm like, I'll wake up and I'm like, "Oh, it's getting it."

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] That's funny. It's getting it good. I was like, "Okay. All right."

[Luke] You're like, "Something's happening."

[Dr. Motley] Something's happening, and it's Yeah... I always, I tell my body, "Thank you. Your, I'm, your body's exactly saying, 'Hey, I need to know a reminder.'" And I'm like, I mean, I need help.

[2:22:59]

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] Remind the body. Let it do what it's think- And it's really like you feel in your body, your body's almost thanking you. Like, "Okay, you helped me out, and I'm helping you out," and you connect. And I think that's, homeopathy's helped me out so much, and it's helped my patients out truly.

[Luke] That's a really important point of harmonizing your relationship with the body, that's something that's been a long lesson for me to learn because I've had kind of a dominionistic relationship with the Hmm... where I'm just like, "I'll just throw all this shit at it and fix it." Like, "I'm in control here. You know, I'm gonna get you to do what I want you to do." 'Cause I wanna feel good, right? Yeah. And it's like, it's a, it's a different approach, I think what you're describing is really, and I've learned a lot from Allison, 'cause she's really in tune with her body. Like she was telling when the herbs are on their way from Africa, she knows where the truck is, dude. Like it's crazy. She can sense they're on our street. They came today. She's like, "Yeah." I mean, she knew the shipment was coming, to be fair. Yeah. But she's like, "No, I can feel them start to work before I even take them," right?

[Dr. Motley] That's

[Luke] The truth. Which could sound crazy to someone, but if you live with someone like that and you go, "Shit, I mean, she can't be right this many times just based on a fantasy or something." No,

[Dr. Motley] Man.

[Luke] But watching her has helped me, like, not just like bulldoze issues I'm having trying to fix them, but really tune into my body and be like, "Do you actually want this thing that I'm doing?" 'Cause I've done, like, I think one of the things that was at the, probably didn't help my tinnitus was you know, I learned about hyperbaric therapy, right?

[Dr. Motley] Mm-hmm.

[Luke] And so I got a chamber and I'm just doing a shit ton of them, and it really helped my brain health.

[Dr. Motley] Yep.

[Luke] And circulation and all kinds of stuff. and so I think, "Well, if hyperbaric's good, I learned about it from someone smart on the podcast who's an expert on hyperbaric, therefore I'm gonna do it every day for the next two years." And all that pressure on my ears, I started to notice when I would do the chambers- Hmm... that it would make my tinnitus worse.

[Dr. Motley] Yeah.

[Luke] And so it's like, I never stopped to ask my body, like, "Hey, do you need to get in that chamber today?" I'm just like, no. This, it's like a self-will thing, right? It's Oh, that's

[Dr. Motley] Good

[Luke] It's like exerting one's will over the body. Meanwhile, the body is a living... It's got its own intelligence, right? And it's waiting for us to communicate with it and be in partnership with it, rather than being like it's like a tyrannical relationship, right? Where it's good... "You're gonna do what I want you to do," pushing the body too hard, harder than it wants to go. Maybe the body just wants sleep and some homeopathy. And I'm like, "No, what you need is 75 supplements- That's-... and a five-hour hyperbaric chamber," you know? I

[Dr. Motley] I always feel like whenever I'm at the office and I get tyrannical, I like that term, because I was having some heart stuff 'cause I get heart stress. But once I started even more diving into, like, just the homeopathy and the, like, herbs, but I was getting really picky about how many I took, and I was testing myself, 'cause you can in some ways. But I was using EAV, you can test certain things, and I, what I noticed that was exactly that. I noticed that when I was at the office, I started to strengthen my heart And when I pushed myself more, I'd almost feel like my heart would sort of like chime up and go, "You're pushing me too hard."

[2:26:10]

[Luke] Mm. Mm-hmm.

[Dr. Motley] And I would have to say, it sounds corny, guys, but I say, "I love you," and some days I'm like, I'm going, I got four more people. I gotta do four more people or something. I said, but I respect it and such. But it's where, like you say, that disconnect comes is where the body's like, "You're not listening to me. You're not listening to me at all. Why would I listen to you? 'Cause I can't trust you now."

[Luke] Mm-hmm. "'

[Dr. Motley] Cause every time I'm tired, you're doing this." You're like, "Well, I'm doing this to help you out." And you're like, "Well, no. If you just did something a little gentle and something that resonated with me, I'll work a little bit better with you." And I think that's why I love like frequency type, like homeopathy or even herbs, 'cause there's a lot of frequency in it, but I'm with you. I think paying attention to your body, feeling it, and hearing it and now I'm more aware when I go into a PTSD fight or flight now Where before I was just reactionary and tyrannical, I just pushed my body through it, and I was like, "I don't care what my heart says. I'm gonna just prove this and do this." And now it's like, "I don't wanna go down. I don't wanna put you through that." Yeah. And I've even apologized to my body on the hard days. Like, "I know I pushed you too hard. I really respect you." And I, it's... But I feel my heart, like, warm up.

[Luke] Yeah.

[Dr. Motley] I really do, and I'm like, "You know I love you," you know? And I do that a lot.

[Luke] That's beautiful. Now, this might be the most important part of this whole conversation, you know, especially- It is... a lot of people listening are like me. They just go hard. It's, I think it's one of the downsides of this, like, optimize, biohack. I mean, I have trained myself over time to stop using the term biohacking 'cause it just doesn't, it's just not a word that feels aligned for me. Mm-hmm. In my book, I call it bioharmonizing. I'm just like, I need another word for this because there's a lot I like it... inputs. There's a lot of great technologies and frequency devices and PMF and lasers and scalar and whatever, and all the supplements, all these great molecules that God put on Earth and that God put in the mind of humans to create in a lab. It's all good, but there's still, like, a mismatch in terms of the relationship. You know, it's the relationship with the body, and thatYeah... that's something that's hard to quantify and hard to describe, and how do you teach someone how to do it? It's like-

[Dr. Motley] Exactly right...

[Luke] We each, it's kind of like we're each beholden to learn it ourselves, and it's something that you kind of just have to feel your way into.

[Dr. Motley] That is a great point. It

[Luke] Makes it makes it more difficult. It

[Dr. Motley] Does.

[Luke] It's not just a pill or a red light thing. It's like, oh, no, let me just sit in my meditation and really tune into what my body needs today. We're impatient. You know what I mean? It's It

[Dr. Motley] Is impatient. That is the perfect key

[Luke] You know? It's like, no, I wanna fix it now. Just do all the things.

[Dr. Motley] And when you... I remember I saw uh, one of your posts, and you were talking about, like, you were talking about feeling. Like, you were saying, like, connecting to pieces of the body, and I want people out there to know too, like, you, when you hear it from Luke, but also I'm saying that even at the office, I tell patients, "If you're tuning in," I'm saying, like, I always say, "Breathe through your stomach and then release your sphincter, and then imagine the energy, and then almost like you consciously allow the blood to flow to your feet. And when you do that, you're allow, like, the meridians to run up. And what will happen is if you really release your lower parts and release your stomach and let your jaw hang and you get quiet and you sort of, sort of tell yourself, like, where are you hurting?" It, your body will, you'll feel a block somewhere in your body, and that's where your body wants to go right there. And that's why I tell people, find out where you feel the block because that's like when a person has a cold foot or cold feet 'cause there's a block in their legs. And it's really important that people like start to create communication. I said, "You have to create communication with your body because you got tyrannical." And I, to me, that's the biggest key is like if people would sit down and listen to their body and just do... Well, we don't. We don't even sit down for two minutes and do it. So the most important part of this is The, I always call it the silent language of the body. Frequencies are the silent language of the body. It's the people who can tune in, who want to learn and listen to it, are the people who can get the most benefit. And this is like the sages of old and people who can actually heal. It's like if you knew where it was at, you could actually just allow your body to flow energy there. And I've had people that actually have done some healing on their own. They're like, "Yeah, it's, I don't feel it anymore." It's like, 'cause their body could concentrate on Mm-hmm... if you listen. Mm-hmm. And I 100% agree with that. And if it, if it needs a little help with homeopathy or a little herbal, take it. Right. You know? And I get it, I love minerals and vitamins, and I'll put some people on some if they need it, but to me it is about listening. That's what it is. Beautiful... that's you know.

[2:30:42]

[Luke] Well, amazing. What a great conversation. I got one more question for you. Yeah. Who have been three teachers or teachings that have impacted you, your life, your work, that you'd like to share with us?

[Dr. Motley] Well, I would say presently, I do say my mentor is Dr. Doughty. He's out in Wichita, Kansas, and he came up with a system that I that I use, but it's CPK USA, like the pizza place, but it's cpkusa.com. But he's a brilliant guy, engineer mind. took a lot of different frequency-based systems and put into one, but he taught me how to listen to the silent language of the body. I would also like to say philosophically, like in Chinese medicine, there are a couple guys, but one of the books that I love is, there's two books. There's, man, there's, they're Invisible Rainbow, Spark in the Machine. Those professors and doctors that created those taught me about how the body harmonizes with frequency. But another one is Dr. Leibowitz. He's a guy who came up with Supreme Nutrition. He taught me this, that he goes, he would just look at me and he goes, "It's always in the history. You get people better if you listen to what they say." He goes, "You have to listen." And that's really stuck with me, is like hearing the little nuances. Um-

[Luke] Which is like the exact opposite experience you'll have dealing with most allopathic practitioners.

[Dr. Motley] Exactly right.

[Luke] And

[Dr. Motley] It's

[Luke] A couple years ago we went to the, like, the clinic, you know, the urgent care down here, 'cause one of us had a cold or something. And I remember I think the guy's not listening at all. He's just like, "Ah," just like steamrolling, right? Yeah. And then Allison's like, "Well should I take some vitamin C, you know, maybe?" And he goes, "Well, there's no science to prove that vitamin C does anything." You know, I'm just like, "Get out of here." I know, that's exactly like-

[Dr. Motley] It's actually

[Luke] Far from the actual- This appointment is older, I mean, this appointment is over. But yeah, there's just like no you know, the humanity is often lost in the, in the listening when you're dealing with practitioners. That, you know, it's not their fault, they're They

[Dr. Motley] Just don't know.

[Luke] Yeah, they've been indoctrinated into a system that's based on time, you know? Exactly right. It's like billable hours, kinda. They're like lawyers with a, with a, um-

[Dr. Motley] They try to rush. I've had that timer. I'm trying to hurry. I think that it is about taking your time I think, but I'll say I didn't, I'm not, you know, I, but I'd say for selflessness, I know there's a lot of great teachers. I do, I like listen to, like, the words of Jesus. I like, I like to read his quotes, and I just like to read quotes about grace and love, like, but not... It's really about internalizing love, and you'll emit it if you actually have it, and I know there's a lot of great teachers out there that do that. But I like, those are three that I think right now it's, like, that I try to base all my stuff on, and I know there's a lot of great teachers out that's helped me, so please don't think I'm missing you. But I always say I just, I'm glad the teachers that I have made me investigate, and I say I can't get everything right. I get that. I'm never gonna cure everything, but at least I can try to find out, and that's what makes it fun, so.

[2:33:44]

[Luke] Beautiful, man. Yeah. Thank you.

[Dr. Motley] Thank you. Appreciate that.
